ヒューストンに来たばかりの方へ。ここで必ず耳にする大きな伝統行事のひとつが Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo です。ロデオはカウボーイだけのイベントではありません🐎🤠。毎年春になると NRG Stadium で、ブルライディングやバレルレーシングなど迫力満点のロデオ競技が行われ、その後には人気アーティストによる大規模なコンサートも開催されます。スタジアムの外には、乗り物やゲームが並ぶ巨大なカーニバルがあり、ここでしか味わえない（ちょっとワイルドな）フードも楽しめます。家畜を間近で見たり、テキサス文化を学んだり、友人と一日中楽しめるのも魅力です。ヒューストンらしさを存分に体験したいなら、ロデオは絶対に外せません。

New to Houston? One of the biggest traditions you’ll hear about is the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and it’s way more than just cowboys. 🐎🤠 Each spring, NRG Stadium hosts exciting rodeo events like bull riding and barrel racing, plus huge concerts with popular artists after the competitions. Outside the stadium, there’s a massive carnival with rides, games, and some of the best (and wildest) food you’ll ever try. You can also see farm animals, learn about Texas culture, and hang out with friends all in one place. If you want to experience something that really shows Houston spirit, the rodeo is a must!

77079（ウエスト・メモリアル）に新しく完成したアパートがあると聞き、実際に見に行ってきました。名前は The Watt で、BPやConocoPhillipsのビルがあるエナジーコリドーに位置しています。実はここ、もともとはオフィスビルでしたが、在宅勤務が増えてオフィススペースが空いてきたことから、アパートへとコンバージョンされた建物です。コンセプトはとてもモダンで、天井はダクトワークが見えるオープン仕様のため天井高があり、ジムには最新鋭のマシンが揃っています。お部屋も全体的にとても広々としているのが印象的でした。ヒューストンとケイティの中間エリアで、しっかりした物件をお探しの新しい駐在員の方には、ぜひご案内したい建物です。2ベッドルームは家賃が約$3,300ですが、現在は新築のため「2か月フリーレント」のキャンペーンを実施中です。ご自身、またはお知り合いの方で新築アパートをお探しの方がいらっしゃいましたら、ぜひご連絡ください。最後にThe Wattならではのユニークなポイントですが、コーヒーマシンだけでなく、なんとワインマシンもあり、入居者は1日1杯まで無料でワインを楽しめます。

I heard about a brand new apartment in 77079 (west Memorial) and I decided to go check it out. The name is called The Watt and the interesting thing is that it is located in the Energy Corridor near the BP and Conoco Phillips buildings. It actually USED TO BE an office building that has been converted into an apartment building since many people now work from home and office space was sitting empty. The concept is modern, the ceilings are open so that you can see the duct work and have high ceilings, the gym has state of the art machines, and the rooms are all very, very spacious! I am excited to show the building to our newest expats if they are looking for a solid building between Houston and Katy. A two bedroom is around $3300 but right now they are brand new so they are running a 2 months free special! If you or anyone you know is looking for a brand new apartment, please call us so we can show it to you! Oh one more unique things at The Watt, not only is there a coffee machine, but there is also a WINE machine! Each resident can have one glass per day for free!

レースカーやスポーツカー、クラシックカーはお好きですか？泰が教えてくれた「Coffee and Cars」というイベントがあり、1月3日にThe Postで実際に行ってみました。フェラーリからランボルギーニまで、そしてその間のあらゆるエキゾチックカーが集まっていて圧巻でした！しかもこのミートアップは一般公開で無料なので、気軽に車を停めて歩きながら、大迫力のエンジン音を楽しむことができます。次回は1月17日にThe Woodlandsの9595 Six Pinesで、午前8時から11時まで開催予定です。さまざまなカーショー情報が載っているウェブサイトもあり、見に行くだけでもとても楽しめます。www.coffeeandcars.net

Do you like race cars, sports cars, vintage cars?  There is an event called Coffee and Cars that Ty told us about so we went to check it out on Jan 3 at The Post. We saw all kinds of exotic cars from Ferrari’s to Lambourghini’s to everything in between! The cool thing is that these meet ups are actually free to the public, so you can just park your car and walk around and listen to the loud revving engines. The next event is January 17 in the Woodlands, at 9595 Six Pines, from 8am-11am. There’s a website where you can find the different car shows and they are pretty entertaining to attend! www.coffeeandcars.net

最高の新しい点心レストランをご紹介します！スーザンの息子ザックは中華点心、特に小籠包（ショウロンポウ）が大好きです。小籠包は中にスープが入った小さな蒸し餃子で、本当に美味しいお店を見つけるのが意外と難しいのですが……ついに見つけました！ぜひ自信をもっておすすめしたいのが、I-10沿い、WirtとBingle Rdの間にあるLove’s Dumpling Houseです。こちらは2号店で、1号店はKatyのMason Rdにあります。ザックと私はI-10の新店舗に行きましたが、ちょうどソフトオープン中でした。ラッキーなことに、オーナーのリャンさんにもお会いできました！2024年に最初のお店をオープンされた、とても優しくて素敵な方です。私たちは、エビと豚肉のワンタン（スパイシースープ）、コンビネーション炒飯、豚肉の小籠包、そしてミニサイズの焼き餃子（豚肉＆エビ）を注文しましたが、どれも本当にA+++の美味しさでした！私たちは大満足でしたし、きっと皆さんも気に入ると思います。

Susan’s son Zach is in love with Chinese dumplings, especially XIAO LONG BAO. They are small steamed dumplings with soup inside. It is hard to find a good restaurant for these special dumplings but WE FOUND ONE! Let me highly recommend “Love’s Dumpling House”, located off I-10 just between Wirt and Bingle Rd. This is actually their second location, with their first being in Katy on Mason Rd. Zach and I went to the new location on I-10 and they were still doing their soft opening. Lucky us, we also met the owner, Mrs. Liang! She is a super sweet lady who started her first location in 2024. Zach and I ordered the shrimp and pork wontons in spicy soup, a combination fried rice, the pork xiao long bao, and some mini pan fried pork and shrimp dumplings. All were A+++ excellent! We loved it and I think you will love it too!
