ヒューストン不動産協会は8月12日、新しい幹事/会計係を選出しました。2025年にスーザンの後任となるトロイ・コトラン氏、おめでとうございます！ トロイ氏は12月にRealtor Celebrationでの新職に就き、既存の執行委員会メンバーは全員1つ昇格し、シェイ・コッター氏が2025年に会長に就任する予定です。現会長のトーマス・ムートン氏は、当組織を率いて素晴らしいお仕事をしています。先週のGreat Day Houstonに出演し、NAR訴訟、MLS規則の変更、ヒューストンの不動産市場の全体的な健全性について話し合いました。当社の執行チームに新しいメンバーが加わることは喜ばしいことです。改めて、おめでとうございます、トロイさん！
The Houston Association of Realtors elected a new Secretary/Treasurer on August 12. Congratulations to Troy Cothran, who will take over Susan’s position in 2025! Troy will take his new position at Realtor Celebration in December and the existing executive committee members will all move up one spot, with Shae Cotter in line to become our Chairman in 2025. Our current Chairman, Thomas Mouton is doing an amazing job leading our organization. He was on Great Day Houston last week, discussing the NAR lawsuit, the MLS rule changes, and the overall health of the Houston real estate market. It is exciting to add a new member to our executive team, so once again, congratulations, Troy!
The Houston Rodeo’s international committee is already busy recruiting our new rookie class for 2025. Applications were taken a few months ago and on Monday August 19, these applicants attended a Rookie Meet and Greet, which is a kind of interview process with the management team. There are a limited number of open spots so it is a bit competitive to join the international committee. Successful candidates will be announced in the next couple of months and then training will soon begin. Next year’s Houston Rodeo is slated for March 4-23 with the first 8 days or so “international days”, the days we have special programs and events for our international guests.
We have several people to celebrate this newsletter. First, we have two new Mr. Ito’s! One moved into a medical center area apartment and one moved into a Clear Lake area single family home. Annoura Realty is always happy to support new expats for Baylor College of Medicine and Mitsubishi Chemical! We also welcomed a new Japanese expat family from Nippon Steel, The Toyoda family. With his offices in the Memorial area, they opted for a single family home in Katy. Mariko was hard at work helping everyone these past couple of weeks, good job M! On the sale front, repeat client Nick closed on his Cottage Grove home last week, so congratulations to him! Meanwhile, we put several homes on the market these past 2 weeks. One was a home in League City on Edinburg which was so popular it was leased in single digit days. For sale, we listed a home on Creekside and also have a home on Sun Harbor currently on the market. Our agent Shantel Looker has two listings on the market. One is a 2 acre waterfront lot on the north shore of Clear Lake and one is a single family home with a pool in Dickinson. We have four condos for sale in the Ponderosa Forest complex (also down in Dickinson), with one also on the market for lease. And, speaking of leases, we have two other properties on the market for lease right now. One is a cute two bedroom condo near UHCL, and the other is a single family home in Bay Glen on Chestnut Springs. On the radar for newcomers: expats from the Government of Japan, Shin Nippon Machinery, Mitsui, Baylor College of Medicine, MD Anderson, and Toray!
We definitely shifted gears as a family since the past newsletter! The first son to start school was Zach, who entered 7th grade at Westbrook Intermediate School on August 14. He will be taking Spanish 1 this year after school, making our carpool a lot more challenging! The next son to start school was Ty, who finally finished his intense plebe summer and started class on August 19 at the United States Naval Academy. Now that plebe summer is over, he has gotten his phone back and texts us from time to time. He told his first class of the day is Wrestling! Our third son to start school actually has not started yet at time of writing this newsletter. Joe’s first day of school at University of Texas actually starts today, Monday August 26. This year, Joe will live at his fraternity house, Kappa Sigma. Susan and Joe took a trip to Austin to furnish his room and get things set up. Joe found a nice sofa and a nice bed frame on Facebook Marketplace! Susan and Koh have been busy supporting our kids and are still hands full with the many properties that still need repair from Hurricane Beryl.
Annoura Realty Group is constantly thinking about special things to do for our clients! One of course, is our famous Welcome Bucket, which is given to all newcomers when they move into their new homes. This branded bucket contains everything a new person might need when they move to a new country, in order to get their new lives started: dish soap, clothes detergent, paper towel, toilet paper, (lots of) snacks, water, beer, even shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! After attending a real estate conference and listening to a famous speaker, Susan learned that it is also very important to remember our past clients, and especially past clients who recommend new clients to us. It is to them we owe a huge thank you for helping us grow our business. So, Susan found a custom box company who helped her design a custom box with our logo and colors. Then, she chose a few special items as the gift inside the box, added stuffing, some marketing items, and a hand written thank you card. Each box is labeled for delivery and/or is ready to be shipped to the people who send us a new client! Last week we shipped two boxes and hand delivered four. We have seven more to deliver and will knock those out right away!
