The National Association of Realtors and the Women’s Council of Realtors hold mid year meetings in Washington DC in May every year. Susan attended several meetings on the national level pertaining to the Certified International Property Specialist, Global Business and Alliances Committee, Diversity, and Commercial Real Estate. Post COVID pandemic, trends with working from home, and the situation in Ukraine were all hot topics of discussion and analysis as they all affect the current real estate market directly. The Women’s Council held their national elections for new officers. It was Mariko’s first real estate conference and she learned many new things and met many new people. It was an eye opening experience!
The annual Texas Kai golf tournament took place on May 1, 2022 at the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch. This tournament combined the United Cup with the JBAH Chairman’s Cup. About 80 players met up in Katy. Susan and Joe played in two separate groups. Susan played with two men from Daikin and one lady from JERA (Shino) while Joe played with one person from Mitsubishi Corporation, one from Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas, and one from Fastener Link, Inc. In the ladies category, Shino won 2nd and Susan won 3rd, while in the men’s category Joe won first place, shooting even par 71. Thank you to the organizers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make it such a fun day. We had so much fun!
It’s only been 2 weeks since our last newsletter but we have been BUSY! First of all, Mariko closed on the biggest sale of her career so far! It was a lease client she helped last year find a house to rent. After their lease ended, they called Mariko and asked her to help them find a house to buy! Coming from California, they were used to much higher prices so they picked a modern SFH in the popular 77019 zip code. Meanwhile, Fayth Lovejoy closed on a townhome near Washington Avenue. Her buyer was a friend and a first time homebuyer. Nan Feng was busy closing both leases and sales. She bought a house and added it to her growing personal portfolio so congratulations to her and her husband! Susan and Mariko helped a Japanese seller FINALLY sell his condo, who for two years had a non paying tenant hiding under the shield of COVID. With jury courts FINALLY open, Pius Dawson was successfully able to evict her. We had a buyer standing by ready to purchase the unit the second the tenant was out. Team Annoura welcomed a couple more doctors to luxury apartments in the medical center, with several more on their way. And finally, Susan closed on two purchases: one was a Clear Lake home for a NY investor that was purchased specifically for a Japanese expat family new to Clear Lake, and one was a Clear Lake condo for a Louisiana investor who will either lease it out or let her daughter live there if she ends up coming to UHCL for school. We thank all of our clients, past and present, for your business and for your referrals. We strive to do our best for everyone who contacts us! If you know anyone coming to Houston or wants to sell or lease their home, please share our contact information and website!
In Annoura Family news, Joe’s high school golf season ended April 21 when Clear Lake High School came in 4th place at the 6A UIL Regional Golf Tournament. 6A is the category for the largest high schools, with a student population of 2100 kids or more. Each team has 5 players and the tournament is a two day tournament. Each day, the team’s total score is calculated by taking the top 4 scores and dropping the lowest one. At the end of the two day tournament, the school with the lowest two day total wins. All teams are trying to place in the top 3 spots because the top 3 schools move to the next level, which is the Texas state tournament. For our region, Kingwood High School and Memorial High School are always extremely strong golf schools. This year, Clear Lake High School (Joe’s team) was also very strong and had a decent chance to take the 3rd spot. It was an extremely tight competition with Clear Lake actually finishing in the top 3 after the first day in very, very 20 mph wind conditions. But, on day 2, the Clear Lake players could not hang on and in the end lost by 3 strokes to Cypress Creek High School for the coveted 3rd spot. It was heartbreaking for the boys, and wrapped up Joe’s high school golf career. What an amazing 6 year journey watching Joe start in 7th grade and improve over the years. We are thankful for his golfing friends and coaches for all of their support.

This bookstore sells super nice coffee table books of all titles. These books are very large and decorative, much like a piece of art! The theme of the event was “Building Your Luxury Brand” and was aimed at teaching realtors how to work in the luxury home market, helping people buy and sell $750k+ homes. We hired a professional photographer to take head shots and lifestyle shots for our members and guests and served prosecco and charcuterie as light bites. Everyone was dressed up for the event and enjoyed an upscale evening of education and networking.
