旅行をお考えの方は必見！アメリカ国民の方にも影響する、アメリカへの旅行に関するいくつか規則が更新されました。来週から、アメリカに来る旅行者は、飛行機に搭乗してから1日以内にウイルスの陰性検査の証拠を提示する必要があります。以前までは3日以内でした。機内でのマスクの着用は3月18日まで、引き続き必要とされます。以前は1月中旬の終了予定でしたが、延長の予定です。過去14日以内に南アフリカおよび他の7つのアフリカ諸国からアメリカへ旅行をする非米国市民およびグリーンカード保有者は、アメリカへの入国を完全に禁止されています。新しい連邦規則は、新しいCOVID-19バリアントを元に導入されました。

Attention travelers! There are some updated rules on traveling INTO the United States, even for U.S. citizens.  Beginning next week, travelers coming to the U.S. will be required to show evidence of a negative test for the virus within ONE day of boarding their flight.  The previous period was 3 days. Wearing masks inside planes will continue to be required, now through March 18, an extension from the original mid-January end date.  Non U.S. citizens and green card holders coming from South Africa and 7 other African countries within the past 14 days, are banned from entry into the U.S. altogether. The new federal rule comes in light of the new COVID-19 variant.

Top Houston News has Democrat Beto O’Rourke running for Texas governor.  He made the announcement on Nov 16.  O’Rourke will run against our current Governor, Greg Abbott, who is seeking a third term.  An update on the Astroworld Festival tragedy has the fatality count at 10. Local attorney Tony Buzbee is representing 120 of the victims in a $750M lawsuit against artist Travis Scott, Drake, and several organizations including LiveNation and Apple Music. On Nov 5, some 50,000 fans attending a concert surged the stage, injuring hundreds and killing 10.  And finally, for you Astros fans, Carlos Correa and Justin Verlander have both declined the qualifying offers from the Houston Astros and will be entering free agency.  Hopefully, Houston will be able to re-sign them, but Correa may be picked up with richer offers elsewhere.  Oh no!  My Astros jersey has CORREA on the back of it!

2020年にCOVIDの影響により、毎年恒例のNAR会議 (NAR = National Association of Realtors “全米不動産協会”、以下省略: NAR)は昨年キャンセルされました。しかし、今年は通常通り開催されました！多くの不動産業者が加盟している全米不動産協会は、先週、カリフォルニア州サンディエゴで年次会議を開催いたしました。アメリカ全土から約1万人の不動産業者が参加し、指導的立場にある方々のための会議、委員会会議、次授業、ネットワーキングイベントなど、たくさんの不動産関連業者を取り上げた大規模な博覧会がとなりました。色々なパーティーや行事があり、とても良い経験となりました。スーザンが今年リエゾンを務めるテキサス不動産業者グローバル委員会は、米国のトップグローバル評議会において、プラチナ賞を受賞しました。全米女性不動産協会ヒューストンは、認定ネットワークとして賞を受賞しました。やったー！

With COVID striking the world in 2020, the annual NAR Conference was cancelled last year. But, this year was a different story! The National Association of Realtors, of which most real estate agents are a member of, held their annual conference last week in sunny San Diego, CA. Some 10,000 realtors from all over the United States attended. There were governance meetings for those in leadership positions, committee meetings, educational classes, networking events, and a huge expo featuring all kinds of real estate related vendors. It was such a happy convention with many parties and celebrations. The Texas Realtors Global Committee, of which Susan serves as Liaison this year, won the Platinum Award for top global councils in the United States. Womens Council of Realtors Houston won an award as a Certified Network. Yay!
