先週、FedExは2022年1月3日から料金の値上げを発表しました。こちらはアメリカ国内全て、国外輸出サービスおよび輸入サービスに適用される予定となっています。企業へ配達を行うFedExGroundとFedExの通常宅配費は平均5.9％増加する一方、FedEx Freightを使用する方は、最大7.9％の増加の見込みとなっています。世界の海運事情はまだ、サプライチェーンからの遅延と消費者の需要の急増によって引き起こされる危機にあり、その結果、企業が商品を出荷するのに更に費用がかかるようになっています。祝日シーズンが迫っている中での残念なニュースです。

FedEx announced last week that they will be raising rates starting Jan 3, 2022.  The increase will apply to all US domestic, US export, and US import services.  FedEx Ground, which delivers to businesses, and FedEx home delivery will increase by an average of 5.9%.  Meanwhile, FedEx Freight customers could see an increase of up to 7.9%. Apparently, there is a crisis in global shipping still happening and backlogs are looming for this upcoming holiday season. The crisis was caused by supply chain delays and soaring consumer demand, making shipping containers become backed up, consequently making it more expensive for companies to ship their goods.

A recent survey by Niche, found Katy Independent School District to be the #1 school district in the Houston area.  In Texas, Katy ISD ranks #13. The top 3 elementary schools were: Alexander, Hayes, and Griffin.  The top 3 middle schools were: Tays, Seven Lakes, and Beckendorff.  The top 3 high schools in Katy ISD were: Seven Lakes, Tompkins, and Cinco Ranch. Clear Creek ISD came in 5th best in the Houston area.

If you are a teacher, faculty, or staff of a school, McDonald’s is giving you a free breakfast this week!  It’s part of their way of saying ‘thank you’ to teachers and all you have to do is show a valid work ID during their breakfast hours.  The free giveaway runs Oct 11-15 and includes a breakfast sandwich, hashbrown, and a beverage.  The sandwich options are an Egg McMuffin (my favorite!), a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit, or a Sausage Biscuit.  Beverage options include a medium McCafe hot or iced coffee or a medium soft drink.

私自身は今まで1度もクルーズに行ったことがありませんが、とても魅力的な情報を見つけました‼ノルウェージアンクルーズが最新の船でガルベストンから出向！船はノルウェープリマと名され、ガルベストンから西カリブ海を往復2回のクルーズ、3日間のは2022年10月27日から始まり、2022年10月31日に4日間のクルーズが開始します。更に2023年と2024年の冬からは、西カリブ海への7日間のクルーズを提供する予定だとか。クルーズ内に含まれているいくつかのストップポイントは：メキシコにあるコスタ・マヤ(コズメル)、ベリーズにあるプライベートアイランド、ハーベスト・ケイ、ロアタン島、ホンジュラス。合計3215人の乗客を乗せることのできるこちらの船にはは、なんとプリマスピードウェイと呼ばれる3階建てのゴーカートレーストラックあるそうです！

I have never actually been on a cruise before, but this one looks pretty cool! Norwegian Cruise Line is bringing its newest ship to GALVESTON!  The ship is called the Norwegian Prima and it will begin with two round trip western Caribbean voyages from Galveston, a 3 day cruise on Oct 27, 2022 and a 4 day cruise on Oct 31, 2022.  Following these inaugural sailings, the ship will homeport out of Galveston and offer 7 day voyages to the Western Caribbean starting in the winter of 2023 and 2024. Some of the places it will stop to visit: Costa Maya in Cozumel, Mexico; Harvest Caye, a private island in Belize; and Roatan Island, Honduras.  The ship will hold 3215 guests and one cool thing it will have is a 3-level go-kart racetrack called Prima Speedway!
