毎年恒例のヒューストン日本商工会（JBAH）主催ソフトボール大会が、4月29日（日）にテキサス州パールランドで開催されました！年々レベルが上がっているこの大会、今年は特に熱気があり、外野手が黄色のベストを着用していたり、女性選手がピンクのリストバンドをつけていたりと、気合の入り具合がすごかったです！スーザンは今年も「Izakaya 和」チームで参加し、案浦不動産もユニフォームスポンサーとして応援しました！なんと今年は、チームに新しいユニフォームが支給され、新メンバーも多数加入し、表彰台を目指して気合い十分で臨みました。しかし、2試合目で「Mitsui Mulligans」に当たり、惜しくも敗退…。それでもスーザンは、たった一度の打席で奇跡のヒットを外野に放ち出塁し、なんとかベースを一周して1点をもぎ取りました！2025年の中で一番嬉しい瞬間だったかもしれません（笑）最終的には「Storms」が「Mulligans」を8対6で破って優勝。会場では、たくさんの友人やお客様にもお会いでき、まさにヒューストン日本コミュニティの温かさを感じる一日となりました。また来年、皆さんと元気にお会いできるのを楽しみにしています！

The annual Japan Business Association of Houston’s softball tournament happened last Sunday April 29 in Pearland, TX. This softball tournament has gotten more and more intense over the years and this year I felt like it got even more intense with outfielders wearing special yellow vests and women wearing pink bracelets! Susan plays on the team, Izakaya Wa, where Annoura Realty is one of the jersey sponsors! This year, our team had brand new jerseys! We welcomed several new players to the team and had high hopes of making it to the podium, but our second game we hit the Mitsui Mulligans and lost. Susan had a miracle hit into the outfield and got herself on base with her one chance at bat, then made it somehow around all the bases and scored a point! It could be the happiest moment of 2025 so far. HA HA! In the end, it was the Storms that beat the Mulligans in the finals 8-6. It was so fun to see so many friends and clients at one event. Until next year, everyone!

May 1, the Greater Houston Partnership had their annual Global Update. The Houston Association of Realtors was the publication sponsor so we got a table for 10 people. Some of the takeaways from the speakers:

1 in 4 Houstonians are foreign born.

145+ languages are spoken in Houston

30% of the Houston workforce is international

65% population growth in 2024 from international migration!

13M international passengers went through the Houston Airport System

#1 U.S. Metro for Exports ($181B up 3% in 2024)

シェブロン選手権は、LPGAツアーの5大メジャー大会のひとつで、世界最高峰の女子プロゴルファーたちが競い合う大会です。舞台はテキサス州にあるThe Club at Carlton Woods（ジャック・ニクラウス設計のコース、パー72）。4日間にわたって熱戦が繰り広げられました。スーザンにとっては、今回が初めてのプロ女子ゴルフトーナメント観戦。ザックのコーチからチケットと駐車パスをもらい、4月28日（土）に一緒に現地へ行ってきました。スーザンとザックのお気に入りの組は、西郷真央選手／Lindsey Duncan選手／Yan Liu選手の3名。間近で観戦しながら、実力拮抗の白熱したラウンドに大興奮！3日目を終えて、西郷選手は首位タイで最終日へ突入。18番ホールのグリーン周りのスタンドから選手たちのショットを見届け、その後、3選手全員のサインももらうことができました！そして迎えた最終日。西郷選手は5人によるプレーオフに突入し、見事1ホール目でバーディを決めて優勝！今回の勝利は、西郷選手（23歳）にとってLPGAメジャー初優勝となり、賞金は120万ドル（約1.8億円）。本当に素晴らしい快挙です！西郷真央選手、本当におめでとうございます！

The Chevron Championship is a professional women’s golf tournament. It is an event on the LPGA Tour, and is one of the tour’s five major championships. The Club at Carlton Woods (Jack Nicklaus Signature Course) is a par 72 course and where the 4 day tournament is played. Susan has actually never watched a professional ladies tournament live before, so when Zach’s coach gave him two tickets and a parking pass, Susan and Zach said YES and went to check out the action on Saturday April 28. Wow, it was so so so exciting to follow around our favorite group- Mao Saigo/ Lindey Duncan/ Yan Liu- watching the three of them battle for #1. In the end, Saigo ended the round tied at first and headed into the 4th and final day. It was exciting watching the players approach the green of the 18th hole from the grandstands, and to get the autographs of all three players before they headed into the players lounge. On day 4, Japanese player Saigo was in a 5 way tie for first, then won the entire tournament by getting a birdie on the first play off hole. It was 23 year old Saigo’s first major LPGA victory and she won $1.2M. Congratulations!

ここ数週間、案浦不動産はとてもとても忙しい日々を過ごしています！まず、スーザンはPasonaに新たに赴任されるヒロキさんのサポートを担当し、無事に住まい探しを完了しました。稔くんはKDDIの新しい駐在員　田澤さんのご入居をお手伝いしました。また、スーザンはカネカの新CEO・七條様のご案内を行い、Clear Lakeを望む素晴らしい物件をご紹介しました。そして、真理子はカネカの別の駐在員様のために、条件にぴったりの物件を交渉のうえ契約まで導きました。現在スーザンは、クラレの新任駐在員・太田様のために理想的な物件の交渉を進めています。売買の面でも動きがあり、住友の新規のお客様がKatyエリアの美しくリノベーションされた住宅の購入契約を締結。さらに、スーザンと真理子が担当していたEmerald Lakeの売却案件も、59日目で無事に買主と契約成立しました。無事にクロージングできますように！そしてもうすぐ、泰の高校の女子レスリングコーチであるミカエラさんと婚約者ファウスティーノさんが初めてのマイホームを購入予定で、あと2日でクロージングを迎えます！こちらもとても楽しみです。さらに嬉しいニュースとして、東京の企業「Brand Street Tokyo」とのお仕事もスタート。将来的にヒューストンに新店舗を開設する可能性もあり、アメリカ中でもアクセスの良いヒューストンを候補地に検討中です。スーザンはこのユニークな企業の方々と数日間行動を共にし、ライブオークションの世界や商品の背景、ビジネスモデルについて深く学ぶ機会がありました。本当に案浦不動産には、退屈な瞬間が一つもありません！今後も、在ヒューストン日本国総領事館の新任者様やJAXAの新駐在員様など、新たな日本からの赴任者のサポートを予定しております。ヒューストンに移住される方がいらっしゃれば、ぜひご紹介ください。ご紹介いただいた方には、ささやかな感謝のギフトをご用意しております！皆さまのご支援に心より感謝申し上げます。

The past couple of weeks has been super, super busy at Annoura Realty! Most recently, Susan helped a newcomer, Hiroki, who will start his new job at Pasona. Mik moved in our new KDDI client, Mr. Tazawa. Susan toured the new Kaneka CEO Mr. Shichijo and found a great unit for him overlooking Clear Lake.  Mariko was successful in negotiating a great lease for another Kaneka expat Mr. , and Susan is in the middle of negotiating a perfect home for her new Kuraray expat, Mr. Ota. On the sale front, our new Sumitomo client went under contract for a beautifully updated home in the Katy area and after 59 days, Susan and Mariko got our Emerald Lake sale listing under contract. Fingers crossed for a smooth transaction! Ty’s CLHS girls wrestling coach, Mikayla and her fiance Faustino is scheduled to close on their first home in two days, which is also super exciting! In other cool news, we are working with a company out of Tokyo called Brand Street Tokyo, who will hopefully open up a branch of their shop here in Houston, the perfect central location in the United States. Susan spent a few days with this fascinating duo, learning all about their business model, products, and the world of live auctions. It’s never a dull moment at Annoura Realty Group! On the horizon, we see a newcomer for the Japanese Consulate and a newcomer for JAXA. Excited to help all new expats moving to Houston from Japan!  Don’t forget if you know someone moving to Houston, let us know! 攻が再びヨーロッパへ旅立ちました！4月21日に出発し、約1ヶ月間の予定で、日本のパラサイクリング代表に選ばれた菅野一彦選手のサポートを行っています。大会に先立ち、二人はドイツ・ハノーバーへ向かい、ラルフ・リントシュルテン博士の特別トレーニングを受けました。その後、ベルギー・オーステンデに移動し、日本代表チームと合流してUCIパラサイクリング・ロードレース ワールドカップに臨んでいます。一方、スーザンさんはヒューストンに残り、日々の送り迎えや、泰の手のかかる水槽と格闘中です（笑）。もうすぐ、テキサス大学で期末試験を終えた丈が帰省予定で、家族の助っ人として大活躍してくれるはず。今から待ち遠しいですね！さらに5月14日には、メリーランド州アナポリスで開催されるHerndon Monument Climbという特別なイベントが控えています。これは海軍士官学校の1年目（プレブイヤー）の集大成として伝統的に行われるイベントで、スーザンさんと真理子が現地まで足を運ぶ予定です。この2週間を振り返ると、丈がイースター休暇で一時帰省したり、スーザンさんの叔母Pingさんが台湾に帰国したり、スーザンさんがTRLPクラス2025のメンバーとしてガルベストンで2日間のリトリートに参加したりと、大忙しの日々を過ごしていました。さらに、名前が変更されたばかりの「Daikin Park」で初めてアストロズの試合を観戦するという楽しい体験も！ザックくんの中学7年生もいよいよ終盤戦。5月22日が今年度の最終登校日となります。2025年も、あっという間に過ぎていきそうですね！

In Annoura Family news, Koh is back in Europe!  He left on April 21 and will be gone for one month, assisting professional paracylist Kazuhiko Kanno, who recently made the Japanese paracyling national team! Ahead of the competition, the two of them went to Germany for some special training under Dr. Ralph Lindschlten in Hanover. Following that, they traveled to Oostende, Belgium to meet up with Japan’s paracyling national team for the UCI Para-Cycling Road Race World Cup. Meanwhile, Susan is back in Houston holding down the fort, running carpool and battling Ty’s unhealthy fish tank everyday (haha). In a week or so, Joe should be wrapping up finals at University of Texas and will come home to save us. I am counting down the days! Around the corner will be a special event in Annapolis, MD, called the Herndon Monument Climb. It will take place on May 14, and Susan and Mariko plan to fly out there to check it out. The Herndon Monument Climb is the traditional culmination of plebe year (the first year) at the Naval Academy. Looking back the past two weeks, Joe came and left for Easter holiday, Susan’s Aunt Ping went back to Taiwan, Susan attended a two day retreat in Galveston with the TRLP Class of 2025, and went to her first Astros game in the newly renamed Daikin Park baseball stadium. Talk about an action packed last two weeks! We are in the home stretch for the school year for Zach. May 22 will be the last day of 7th grade. Can’t believe how fast 2025 is going by!
