     時間を止めることは不可能で、なんと10月21日に弊社社長・案浦スーザンは50歳のお誕生日を迎えました。誰もは若い頃にはいつか50歳になるなんて想像もつきませんが、50歳を迎えた現在、今までの人生とこれからの人生を振り返る時が来ました。目標を再検討し、価値観を再検討し、優先順位を再検討する良い機会です。攻とスーザンは、誕生日祝いにメイン州に短い旅行へ行ってきました。ポーツマスからケネバンクポート、オリッサ、ポートランド、そしてアルカディア国立公園を訪れるためにバー・ハーバーなど多くの小さな町を訪れました。彼らはキャデラック山の頂上から10月21日の日の出も見にいきました。色とりどりな写真が沢山あるので、スーザンのFBページを是非チェックしてください！ www.facebook.com/susankwokannoura

    It’s impossible to stop time and when Oct 21 rolled around, Susan turned 50 years old! When you are young it is hard to imagine you will be 50 someday but now that it has happened, it is time to reflect on life up until now as well as life going forward.  It is a good time to re-visit goals, re-visit values, and re-visit priorities.  Koh and Susan took a short trip to Maine to celebrate Susan’s big 5-0. They visited many small towns from Portsmouth to Kennebunkport, Odisha, Portland, all the way up to Bar Harbour to visit Arcadia National Park.     If you are looking for something entertaining to do, there are many holiday events coming up!  Many are starting in early November, such as the light show at NASA’s Space Center Houston.  Another tradition is the Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo.  If you haven’t been down to Galveston, go check out Moody Garden for their annual Holiday in the Gardens. I’ve never been to it, but it sounds really nice- lights at Houston’s Botanic Garden!     The National Retail Federation estimates that an all-time high of $10.14 billion will be spent on Halloween 2021 — an increase from the $8.05 billion spent in 2020. What are people spending their money on? Candy: This is expected to be $3 billion, with 66% of consumers planning to hand out treats. This is an increase from $2.41 billion last year. Decorations: This is expected to be $3.17 billion, a big increase from $2.59 billion in 2020. Costumes: An estimated $3.32 billion is expected to be spent in this category, whether it’s people dressing up themselves, their kids or their pets. It’s an increase from $2.61 billion in 2020.  And finally, Greeting cards: An expected $666 million is going to be spent on greeting cards, an increase from the $444 million spent in 2020.  Interesting…people spend money on Halloween greeting cards!?  I didn’t know that!
