    ハッピー感謝祭！

    今年の感謝祭は2021年11月25日木曜日に祝われます。伝統的に、感謝祭の翌日はブラックフライデーと呼ばれる休日であり、1年で最大の買い物日です。売れ行きが好調なだけでなく、深夜営業の店舗などもあり、一晩中営業しているお店もあります！感謝祭で行う伝統的なことの例としては、家族が集合し七面鳥、詰め物、マッシュドポテト、クランベリーソース、パンプキンパイをいただくことです。多くの人たちは、一日中サッカーを見たり、テレビでメイシーズのデーパレードを観覧するのが好きみたいです。私の家族は感謝祭の休暇中に家族旅行へ出かけます。普段だと子供たちが学校を1週間休校になるからです！ヒューストンが初めての場合は、ロストメープルズ州立公園とエンチャンテッドロックをチェックしてみてはどうでしょうか？どちらの場所にもハイキングコース、紅葉など涼しくなってきた気候を楽しむのに最適です。必ず事前にお電話でご予約ください！みなさん、ハッピーサンクスギビング！

    Thanksgiving this year will be celebrated on Thursday November 25, 2021.  Traditionally, the day after Thanksgiving is a holiday called Black Friday, and is one of the biggest shopping days of the year. Not only are huge sales going on, but stores open super late at night, with some stores opening all night long! Some traditional things to do on Thanksgiving are family get togethers to eat turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. People also like to watch football all day and to watch the Macy’s Day Parade on TV. Our family tends to travel during the Thanksgiving Holiday because the kids usually have the entire week off from school! One great place to check out if you are new to Houston is Lost Maples State Park and Enchanted Rock. Both places have great hiking trails, fall foliage, and wonderful weather this time of the year. Be sure to call ahead for reservations! Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

    第５３回 JASH BASH　ヒューストン日米協会

    先週、ヒューストン日米協会の53年目を記念し、アメリカ、特にヒューストンを中心に日本と橋渡しのお祝いをしました。 JASH BASH 53は、ヒューストンのバスケットボールチーム・ロケッツが試合をするトヨタセンターで開催されました。特別な舞台裏ツアーでロッカールームとウェイトルームを見るのはとても新鮮で素敵でした。メインイベントはバスケットボールコートの前にある、豪華なレクサスラウンジでワインとオードブルを楽しみました！とても豪華なセッティングでしたが、残念なことにアストロズはすぐ隣(ミニッツメイド球場)で6試合目に負けていました。 JASHはヒューストン日米協会の略称で、ウェブサイトは下記のリンクよりご覧ください: https://www.jas-hou.org/  招待してくれたGlen Gondo (グレン・ゴンドウ)に感謝します。案浦不動産がお手伝いするクラレ、ダイキン、三菱からの多くの日本人のクライアント共に、攻と私はとても楽しいイベントに参加させていただきました。

    Last week celebrated 53 years of JASH and its commitment to bridging America, specifically Houston,  to Japan. JASH BASH 53 took place at the Toyota Center, where the Houston Rockets play basketball. It was very neat seeing the locker room and the weight room in a special behind the scenes tour. A short reception took place in the fancy Lexus Lounge with wine and h’ordeuvres before the main party moved onto the floor of the basketball court! It was such a beautiful setting, although the Astros were losing game 6 right next door 🙁  JASH stands for Japan America Society Houston and their website is https://www.jas-hou.org/ .  Special thanks to Glen Gondo for inviting Koh and I to share this experience with many of our Japanese clients from Kuraray, Daikin, and Mitsubishi.

    今年のワールドシリーズで地元ヒューストン・アストロズが素晴らしい戦いを繰り広げたことは言うまでもありません。最も興奮したゲームの1つは、10月31日ハロウィーンの夜のゲームでした。私たちはみんなトリック オア トリートをしている最中に、重要な試合を見に家まで戻ってきました。もし31日に負けていたら、4対2で敗北決定でしたが、さすがアストロズ！無事に勝ちました！優れたバッティングとピッチングで、５試合目を乗り切り、11月2日にヒューストンでのホーム試合となりました。残念ながら、アストロズは先週の火曜日に敗北、アトランタ・ブレイブスが2021年のワールドシリーズチャンピオンとなりました。ヒューストン・アストロズのみなさん、お疲れ様でした、これからも応援しています！

    We can’t not mention our Houston Astros, who put up an amazing fight for this year’s World Series! One of the most exciting games has to be the game on Halloween night, October 31. We all went trick or treating, but we came back to watch this important game. Had we lost, we would be out, 4 games to 2. But, we won! With some excellent batting and pitching, we survived game 5 and took the series back to Houston on November 2. Sadly, the Astros could not win last Tuesday and the Atlanta Braves became the 2021 World Series Champion.  Good try, Houston Astros, we still love you!

     時間を止めることは不可能で、なんと10月21日に弊社社長・案浦スーザンは50歳のお誕生日を迎えました。誰もは若い頃にはいつか50歳になるなんて想像もつきませんが、50歳を迎えた現在、今までの人生とこれからの人生を振り返る時が来ました。目標を再検討し、価値観を再検討し、優先順位を再検討する良い機会です。攻とスーザンは、誕生日祝いにメイン州に短い旅行へ行ってきました。ポーツマスからケネバンクポート、オリッサ、ポートランド、そしてアルカディア国立公園を訪れるためにバー・ハーバーなど多くの小さな町を訪れました。彼らはキャデラック山の頂上から10月21日の日の出も見にいきました。色とりどりな写真が沢山あるので、スーザンのFBページを是非チェックしてください！ www.facebook.com/susankwokannoura

    It’s impossible to stop time and when Oct 21 rolled around, Susan turned 50 years old! When you are young it is hard to imagine you will be 50 someday but now that it has happened, it is time to reflect on life up until now as well as life going forward.  It is a good time to re-visit goals, re-visit values, and re-visit priorities.  Koh and Susan took a short trip to Maine to celebrate Susan’s big 5-0. They visited many small towns from Portsmouth to Kennebunkport, Odisha, Portland, all the way up to Bar Harbour to visit Arcadia National Park.     盛りだくさんイベント情報！

    祝日などが近づいている中、何をしたらいいかわからないという方々には必見！ホリデーイベントが盛り沢山！ NASAスペースセンター・ヒューストンでのライトショーなど、多くのイベントは11月初旬から開催予定。もう1つヒューストンで祝日イベントの伝統とされているのは、ヒューストン動物園のイルミネーションです。ガルベストンに行ったことがない方達は、毎年恒例のムーディーガーデンで開催されるホリデーインザガーデンを是非チェックしてみてください。私は行ったことがまだないのですが、豪華そうですね。ヒューストンの植物園の照明はとても素敵だったのを覚えています。インスタグラムでは、「ヒューストンボタニックガーデンは、地元および国際的なアーティストによって作成されたテキサス独自のインストレーションを含む、魅惑的なイルミネーションを備えた、国際的に高く評価されているライトスケープでこのホリデーシーズンを魅了する予定です。」それぞれのイベントの詳細と情報については、ここをクリックしてください：https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/2021/10/20/holiday-light-events-to-check-out-this-season-in-houston

    If you are looking for something entertaining to do, there are many holiday events coming up!  Many are starting in early November, such as the light show at NASA’s Space Center Houston.  Another tradition is the Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo.  If you haven’t been down to Galveston, go check out Moody Garden for their annual Holiday in the Gardens. I’ve never been to it, but it sounds really nice- lights at Houston’s Botanic Garden!
