Indigenous Peoples’ Day seeks to shift the focus towards honoring the contributions and rich history of Native American and Indigenous peoples. Many cities and states in the United States have chosen to adopt Indigenous Peoples’ Day as a way to promote a more inclusive and accurate understanding of American history.
