    今年のワールドシリーズで地元ヒューストン・アストロズが素晴らしい戦いを繰り広げたことは言うまでもありません。最も興奮したゲームの1つは、10月31日ハロウィーンの夜のゲームでした。私たちはみんなトリック オア トリートをしている最中に、重要な試合を見に家まで戻ってきました。もし31日に負けていたら、4対2で敗北決定でしたが、さすがアストロズ！無事に勝ちました！優れたバッティングとピッチングで、５試合目を乗り切り、11月2日にヒューストンでのホーム試合となりました。残念ながら、アストロズは先週の火曜日に敗北、アトランタ・ブレイブスが2021年のワールドシリーズチャンピオンとなりました。ヒューストン・アストロズのみなさん、お疲れ様でした、これからも応援しています！

    We can’t not mention our Houston Astros, who put up an amazing fight for this year’s World Series! One of the most exciting games has to be the game on Halloween night, October 31. We all went trick or treating, but we came back to watch this important game. Had we lost, we would be out, 4 games to 2. But, we won! With some excellent batting and pitching, we survived game 5 and took the series back to Houston on November 2. Sadly, the Astros could not win last Tuesday and the Atlanta Braves became the 2021 World Series Champion.  Good try, Houston Astros, we still love you!

     時間を止めることは不可能で、なんと10月21日に弊社社長・案浦スーザンは50歳のお誕生日を迎えました。誰もは若い頃にはいつか50歳になるなんて想像もつきませんが、50歳を迎えた現在、今までの人生とこれからの人生を振り返る時が来ました。目標を再検討し、価値観を再検討し、優先順位を再検討する良い機会です。攻とスーザンは、誕生日祝いにメイン州に短い旅行へ行ってきました。ポーツマスからケネバンクポート、オリッサ、ポートランド、そしてアルカディア国立公園を訪れるためにバー・ハーバーなど多くの小さな町を訪れました。彼らはキャデラック山の頂上から10月21日の日の出も見にいきました。色とりどりな写真が沢山あるので、スーザンのFBページを是非チェックしてください！ www.facebook.com/susankwokannoura

    It’s impossible to stop time and when Oct 21 rolled around, Susan turned 50 years old! When you are young it is hard to imagine you will be 50 someday but now that it has happened, it is time to reflect on life up until now as well as life going forward.  It is a good time to re-visit goals, re-visit values, and re-visit priorities.  Koh and Susan took a short trip to Maine to celebrate Susan’s big 5-0. They visited many small towns from Portsmouth to Kennebunkport, Odisha, Portland, all the way up to Bar Harbour to visit Arcadia National Park.     祝日などが近づいている中、何をしたらいいかわからないという方々には必見！ホリデーイベントが盛り沢山！ NASAスペースセンター・ヒューストンでのライトショーなど、多くのイベントは11月初旬から開催予定。もう1つヒューストンで祝日イベントの伝統とされているのは、ヒューストン動物園のイルミネーションです。ガルベストンに行ったことがない方達は、毎年恒例のムーディーガーデンで開催されるホリデーインザガーデンを是非チェックしてみてください。私は行ったことがまだないのですが、豪華そうですね。ヒューストンの植物園の照明はとても素敵だったのを覚えています。インスタグラムでは、「ヒューストンボタニックガーデンは、地元および国際的なアーティストによって作成されたテキサス独自のインストレーションを含む、魅惑的なイルミネーションを備えた、国際的に高く評価されているライトスケープでこのホリデーシーズンを魅了する予定です。」それぞれのイベントの詳細と情報については、ここをクリックしてください：https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/2021/10/20/holiday-light-events-to-check-out-this-season-in-houston

    If you are looking for something entertaining to do, there are many holiday events coming up!  Many are starting in early November, such as the light show at NASA’s Space Center Houston.  Another tradition is the Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo.  If you haven’t been down to Galveston, go check out Moody Garden for their annual Holiday in the Gardens. I’ve never been to it, but it sounds really nice- lights at Houston’s Botanic Garden!     全米小売業協会は、2021年ハロウィンに過去最高とされる101.4億ドルが費やされると見積もっています。2020年に費やされた80.5億ドルと比較すると増加していることがわかります。皆様はハロウィンのために何にお金を費やしていますか？お菓子：予想では30億ドル程になると予想されており、消費者の66％がお菓子を配る予定としています。これは昨年の24億1000万ドルと比較すると増加しています。デコレーション：予想では31.7億ドル、2020年の25.9億ドルから大幅に増加しています。衣装：大人から子ども、ペットも含め、推定33.2億ドルが費やされると予想されています。 2020年は26.1億ドルでした。最後は、祝日挨拶カード：2020年は4億4400万ドルでしたが、今年の予想では6億6600万ドルとなっています。面白いですね…沢山の人がカードにお金をかけているなんて知らなかったです！

    The National Retail Federation estimates that an all-time high of $10.14 billion will be spent on Halloween 2021 — an increase from the $8.05 billion spent in 2020. What are people spending their money on? Candy: This is expected to be $3 billion, with 66% of consumers planning to hand out treats. This is an increase from $2.41 billion last year. Decorations: This is expected to be $3.17 billion, a big increase from $2.59 billion in 2020. Costumes: An estimated $3.32 billion is expected to be spent in this category, whether it’s people dressing up themselves, their kids or their pets. It’s an increase from $2.61 billion in 2020.  And finally, Greeting cards: An expected $666 million is going to be spent on greeting cards, an increase from the $444 million spent in 2020.  Interesting…people spend money on Halloween greeting cards!?  I didn’t know that!

    スーザンの50歳の誕生日が近づいており（10月21日）、お祝いのために友達とテキサス州フレデリックスバーグに2泊3日の旅行にお出かけしました。フレデリックスバーグは小さなナパみたいな感じのようなものであることをご存知ですか？！地元産のブドウを使用しているワインメーカーもあり、ワインの試飲のために50の異なるブドウ園に一緒に訪問することができます。フィエスタワイナリー、ファストアスワイナリー（本当の名前です！）、アルトシュタットと呼ばれる醸造所（ドイツ料理と生演奏を完備）、ベッカーヴィンヤード（美しい庭園）、シグナーヴィンヤーズ（素敵な雰囲気）をチェックしました。ヒューストンから約4.5時間の距離にあるとても楽しい場所で、休暇中の旅行先をお探しの場合は、テキサス州フレデリックスバーグを是非チェックしてください。町がとてもかわいく、お越しの際は近くで有名なルッケンバッハの町をチェックすることを忘れないでください。
    Susan’s 50th Birthday is coming up (Oct 21) and to celebrate, her friends brought her to Fredericksburg, TX for 2 nights and 3 days.  Did you know that Fredericksburg is like a little Napa Valley?!  You can go into one of 50 different vineyards for wine tastings, with some wine makers using locally grown grapes. We checked out Fiesta Winery, Fast Ass Winery (yes, that’s the real name!), a brewery called Altstadt (complete with German food and live music), Becker Vineyard (beautiful gardens), and Signor Vineyards (nice atmosphere). If you are looking for a very fun getaway about 4.5 hours away from Houston, check out Fredericksburg, TX! The city itself is super cute and don’t forget to check out the famous town of Luckenbach nearby.
