ヒューストンロデオは、私の地元でお気に入りのイベントの1つです。街全体が一体となる大規模なお祭りのようで、丸 3週間続きます。ロデオに行ったことがないという方は是非、一度は行ってみてください。平日と週末で、ロデオの開始時間が異なりますのでご注意ください。平日のロデオは午後6時45分開始、コンサートは午後8時45分頃開始予定です。 NRGスタジアムゲートは午後6時に開きます。週末のロデオは午後3時45分開始、午後5時45分頃にコンサート開始予定です。NRGスタジアムのゲートは午後3時に開きます。ゲートの開く時間に関わらず、早めの入場は可能なので、早めの到着をお勧めします！敷地内には通常駐車場を使用した巨大なカーニバルがあり、リライアントセンター内 (リライアントスタジアムの隣) にはたくさんのショッピングやさまざまな動物を観たり触ったりすることができます。いくつかのライブステージがあるChampions Wine Gardenもオススメです。私のお気に入りな点は、天気の良い日にワインを1本購入し、友達と座りながらワインと生演奏の音楽を楽しむことです。

今年のロデオは2月28日に始まり、3月19日まで続きます。ワールドチャンピオン BBQコンテストは、その前の週末である、2月23日から25日まで開催されます。朗報です….！日本のチーム、BBQ Shogun、再びコンテスト参加となります！

The Houston Rodeo is one of my favorite events in Houston.  It’s like a huge festival for the whole city and it continues for 3 whole weeks. If you have never been to the rodeo, you must go check it out at least once! Beware that weekday and weekends, the rodeo starts at different times. Weekday rodeos start at 6:45pm. The entertainer takes the stage at approximately 8:45 p.m. NRG Stadium gates open at 6 p.m. Weekend rodeos start at 3:45 p.m. The entertainer takes the stage at approximately 5:45 p.m. NRG Stadium gates open at 3 p.m. But, you can get onto the grounds much earlier and I recommend that you do! On the grounds is a huge carnival where the parking lot normally is, and inside Reliant Center (next to Reliant Stadium) has lots of shopping and many kinds of animals. There is also a Champions Wine Garden with several live music stages. One of my favorite things to do is to buy a bottle of wine on a beautiful day, sit with friends, and listen to the live music! 

This year, the rodeo will begin on Feb 28 and will go until March 19.  The World Champion BBQ Contest will be the previous weekend, from Feb 23-25 and Good News….The team from Japan, BBQ Shogun, has been invited back to compete! 

現在テキサス州は高校レスリングシーズンです。高校生レスラーは学校の規模に応じたトーナメントに参加します。学校の規模は、1A、2A、3A、4A、5A、6A と区切られており、UIL は半年ごとに区分の確定をします。1A の区分内には、生徒数が 105 人未満の生徒数が最も少ない学校同士でのトーナメントとなります。一方6A区分は、2225人以上の生徒数を持つ学校が集結されたトーナメントとなります。 クリアレイク高校は6A区分での参加となります。高校の部活では、生徒が出場できるレベルは州レベルが最高地となります。区大会から始まり、市大会（ケイティ、サイプレスなどヒューストン近郊を含む）、そして州大会の順番で行われます。各学区から沢山の学校が参加し、テキサス州には 4 つの地域で分けられます。

スーザンの次男の泰は、2 月10日から11日にケイティのメレル センターで開催されたテキサス地域 3-6A 高校レスリング トーナメントに１２６ポンド階級で参加しました。 2日間合計で、 4 試合に参加、全勝での126 ポンド地域チャンピオンの座を獲得し、来週ベリーセンターで開催される州大会の出場権を獲得しました。県大会出場は今年で3回目、そして今年の目標はメダル獲得です！クリアレイク高校から州大会への出場は、シニア 2 名 (ベン・ビーティとアンソニー・ジェンキンス)、ジュニア 2 名 (タイとブリットン)、新入生 1 名 (トリスタン・フォースマン)の合計５名となります。

It’s high school wrestling peak season all over Texas right now. At the high school level, kids compete against other kids depending on the size of their school. The size of the schools is described as 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A.  UIL determines biannually the classifications.  Now, a 1A schools is defined as a school with the smallest population, below 105 students.  On the other hand, a 6A school has the largest student population, schools with over 2225 students. Clear Lake High Schools is a 6A high school, so kids in CCISD (our school district) compete against other large 6A schools. For high school sports, the highest level a student can compete at is at the state level. In order to compete at the state level, they first compete at the district level, then winners move to the regional level to compete, then finally, winners move to the state level, which is the highest level. Each district has many schools, and Texas has 4 regions.

Susan’s second son, Ty, wrestled Feb 10-11 at the Merrell Center in Katy at the Texas Region 3-6A High School Wrestling Tournament. This year he competes in the 126 pound category. Over the two days, he wrestled four matches and won all four, becoming the regional champion in the 126 pound category. He now qualifies for the state tournament, which will be next week at the Berry Center. This will be his third trip to the state tournament and his goal is to win a medal!  Qualifying for state from Clear Lake High school were two seniors (Ben Beaty and Anthony Jenkins), two juniors (Ty and Britton), and one freshman (Tristan Forsman).

テキサス不動産協会は数年前に、テキサス不動産と名前の変更をしました。ヒューストン不動産に所属するエージェントは、同時に州レベルでテキサス不動産に、全国レベルでは全米不動産協会 (NAR) の会員となります。これらは全てボランティアによって運営されています。 スーザンは2018 年にヒューストンの国際委員会の会長を務め、今年2023年はテキサス州国際委員会の会長に任命されました。 2 月10日から14日にはテキサス州オースティンでテキサス不動産　冬季会議が開催されました。テキサス州内から多くの不動産関係者が集まり、これからの業界に影響を与える法案について話し合いました。最大とされた懸念は、中国人 (およびイラン人) がテキサス州で不動産 (土地または家屋) を購入することを禁止する提案です。国際委員会は、2月10日に今年初とされる会議を行い、他国とのパートナーシップを見つける方法、またCIPS (Certified International Property Specialist の略) という称号についても説明されました。不動産業界の中にて一線を画したいエージェントすべてに推奨される称号です。合計5日間を通して、世界各国の人々と取引をする授業を受けます。 (https://www.nar.realtor/education/designations-and-certifications/certified-international-property-specialist-cips) 。案浦不動産内では、スーザンと真理子の両方がこの称号を持っており、スーザンは今年、CIPSのインストラクターに承認されました！現在スーザンは、オースティンに会議のため出張しており、明日の朝に開催される取締役会に新しい委員として出席する予定です。

Texas Association of Realtors rebranded a few years ago and changed their name to simply, Texas Realtors.  All Houston Realtors are a member also of Texas Realtors on the state level and the National Association of Realtors (NAR) on the national level. All these real estate associations of various committees that are run by realtor volunteers. In 2018, Susan was the chairman for the international committee for Houston. This year 2023, Susan is the chairman for the international committee for Texas. February 10-14 Texas Realtors held their winter meetings in Austin, TX. Realtors from all over Texas came together to hear about proposed legislation that if passed, will affect our industry. The biggest concern is the proposed ban on Chinese (and Iranian) people to buy property (land or houses) in Texas. The international committee met on February 10 for their first meeting of the year. They discussed how to create opportunities for real estate professionals to do business internationally and how to find partnerships with realtors in other countries. We also discussed the designation, CIPS (which stands for Certified International Property Specialist), which is recommended to all realtors who want to set themselves apart with higher learning. The CIPS designation requires five full days of classes that specifically teaches how to work with people from different countries (https://www.nar.realtor/education/designations-and-certifications/certified-international-property-specialist-cips) .  Both Susan and Mariko have this designation, and Susan was recently approved by NAR to be a CIPS Instructor to teach the 5 required classes + the elective, At Home With Diversity. Susan is back in Austin now to attend her first Board of Directors meeting tomorrow morning.  She is a rookie Director this year for Texas Realtors!

スーザンは2023年ヒューストン不動産協会 (HAR) の理事会に選出されました。先週、今年初めての公式理事会とリーダーシップ オリエンテーションへHAR の CEO であるボブ・ヘイル、HARの新しい会長であるキャシー・トレビノ、そしてHARとHRISのマネージャーとディレクターと共に出席しました。それぞれの出席者から、現在の協会の現状について、業界の動向、業界における問題、不動産業界に関連した訴訟の現状、メディアからのインタビュー要求への対応方法など様々な要点に触れました。 合計5時間のセッションの後は参加者みんなでパーティーに行き、この地位で理事会に参加できてとても嬉しかったです。理事会終了後には、ヒューストン・クロニクルから、中国からのテキサスへの投資を禁止する案についてのインタビューを求める連絡をいただきました。個人的な意見もありますが、HAR のコミュニケーション部門に委ねることにしました。

As a newly elected member of the Board of Directors for the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR), Susan attended her first official HAR board meeting and Leadership Orientation last week. In attendance was the CEO of HAR, Bob Hale, the new chairman of HAR, Cathy Trevino, as well as the managers and directors of HAR and HRIS. Various speakers touched on the topics of the current state of the association, industry trends, industry threats and disrupters, ongoing lawsuits related to the real estate industry, and how to handle interview requests from the media. It was a 5 hour session with a lovely reception to follow and I was happy to be able to participate at this level. Soon after, the Houston Chronicle emailed to ask about my thoughts on the proposed ban on Chinese investments to Texas. Although I had my thoughts, I deferred them to HAR’s communications department.
