The Houston Association of Realtors is one of the largest realtor associations in the  United States. There are over 46,000 members! Leading the association is a Board of Directors who is elected by the members every year. Candidates run in different categories, depending on the size and location of the candidate’s company. Once elected, each director serves a two year term. This year, the election will take place July 26-August 1 and all members of the Houston Association of Realtors can vote. 丈と泰が小さかった頃、毎年夏には攻の両親に会うために日本へ帰国していました。8歳と10歳になった頃には子供たちだけで日本に行くことも多々ありました！子供たちは昼間は博多小学校へ、学校の後は１００円玉をポケットいっぱいに積み込みローソンやセブンイレブンまでアロエヨーグルトやおにぎりを買いに行きます。自分達でビデオを撮ったりしてYouTubeにAnnobroという名前でチャンネルも開設しました。（私のお気に入りの一つはこれです: https://youtu.be/X__6BCeQfKc ）コロナが発症する前まではザックも日本へ毎年帰っていましたが、ここ2年間帰ることが出来ていません。まだ日本ではコロナの影響が激しく、人々はマスク着用をし小学校は海外からの生徒を受け付けることが出来ません。更に航空券が＄3000近くとなっており、数週間帰るだけでとても高値となっています。Facebookの思い出から2016年に攻とザックが日本へ帰った時の写真が出てきました！懐かしい！

When Joe and Ty were little, we used to fly them back to Japan every summer to spend  time with Koh’s parents. By the time, they were 10 and 8, they were flying back and forth by themselves without us! They would attend Hakata Elementary school in the daytime then after school, walk the streets of Fukuoka with their pockets full of 100 yen coins and stop at Lawson’s or 7Eleven to buy aloe yogurt or onigiri rice balls. They even shot their own video footage and made their own YouTube channel, calling it AnnoBros. (This is one of my favorites: https://youtu.be/X__6BCeQfKc).  Until COVID, we had Zach going to Japan to also follow in this tradition, but sadly, he has not gotten to go the past two summers and now this summer again, he could not go. We heard that people in Japan are still very nervous about COVID, everyone is still wearing masks, and the elementary school was not able to welcome foreign students. On top of this, airline tickets were nearly $3000 per ticket, making it unafforadable to fly everyone over there for a couple of weeks. Facebook memories brought up this pic of Zach and Koh from 2016 June 30. Wow, how time flies!

1776年7月4日は、第二回大陸会議が独立宣言を採択し、植民地がイギリスから分離したことを発表した日です。そのため、7月4日はアメリカが生まれた日であるアメリカの独立記念日と見なされます。一般的のお祝いの仕方は、お祭り、パレード、花火、バーベキュー、線香花火、コンサートや家族の集まりなどがあります。 National Sausage and Hot Dog Council（うわー、そのような組織がありますか？！）によると、アメリカ人は7月4日の休日に1億5000万匹のホットドッグを食べると予想されています！ここヒューストンで、最も大きなイベントとされるのはShell FreedomOverTexasと呼ばれています。合計6時間となるこちらのイベントは、ダウンタウン近くのアレンパークウェイに沿って開催され、約50,000人が参加する予定です。イベントは、音楽に合わせた信じられないほどの花火のフィナーレが有名で、人混みを避けたいという方は、テレビでも放映されるので、是非見てみてください。今年は、ジョンソン宇宙センターと提携して、NASAの宇宙飛行士、ロボットによるデモンストレーション、国際宇宙ステーションへのバーチャルリアリティのフィールドトリップを特集します。

July 4th, 1776 is the day the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of  Independence, announcing the colonies’ separation from Great Britain.  That is why July 4 is considered the birthday of America, the day America was born. Common celebrations include festivals, parades, fireworks, BBQs, sparklers, concerts, and family gatherings. According to the National Sausage and Hot Dog Council (wow, there is such an organization?!), Americans are expected to eat 150 million hot dogs over the 4th of July holiday! Here in Houston, the big event is called Shell Freedom Over Texas. This six hour event is held along Allen Parkway near downtown and some 50,000 people are expected to attend.  The event culminates with an incredible fireworks finale choreographed with music. If you don’t want to brave the crowd, just turn on your tv, as it will be televised as well. This year, Shell Freedom Over Texas will partner with the Johnson Space Center to feature NASA astronauts, robotic demonstrations, and virtual reality fieldtrips to the International Space Station!

Where are my Top Gun fans?! The original movie came out when I was 15 years old and Tom Cruise was a young 24 year old actor playing the biggest role of his life. The newest rendition of the movie, Top Gun Maverick came out May 27, 2022 and we finally had a chance to go see it! It’s been forever since I went to a movie theater, but we ended up going to Baybrook Mall’s Star Cinema Grill to see it. This movie theater, by the way, is amazing! It has a full service bar menu, food menu, and comfortable, reclining chairs! Top Gun Maverick was extremely entertaining. Tom Cruise looked older but was still his handsome self, and the story was easy to understand with great technology and stunts. If you are looking for a thrilling experience and a great chance to escape reality for a couple hours, grab a friend and go check it out! 攻は先週、マスターズトラックサイクリング全国選手権に出場するためにインディアナポリスへ行きました。過去2年間、年齢グループで金メダルを獲得し、今回は3度目となる金メダルを目指すレースとなりました。スーザンと泰は、レスリングキャンプに参加するためにコロラドスプリングズにいたため、そこからテネシー州メンフィスにて攻、丈、そしてザックと合流し、一緒にインディアナポリスに向かった。 200メートルのタイムトライアルで新記録を更新、スプリントブラケットでトップに立ちました。その後、3ラウンド（合計7レース）に出場し、金メダルを獲得しました！500メートルのタイムトライアルでも、最速タイムを記録し、2度目のメダルを獲得しました。家族全員で記録更新、そして優勝する瞬間を目の前で見ることができ、とても良い思い出となりました。攻、おめでとう、そして結婚28周年おめでとう！

Last week, Koh travelled to Indianapolis to compete in the Masters Track Cycling National Championships.  Koh won the gold medal for his age class the past 2 years and was trying for a third gold medal.  Susan and Ty flew from Colorado Springs where they were attending a wrestling camp for Ty, to Memphis, Tennessee.  They met up with Koh, Joe, and Zach, then drove together to Indianapolis to watch Koh compete. After setting a new track record in his 200 meter time trial, Koh placed top in his sprint bracket.  He then went on to compete in three rounds (total 7 races), and won the gold medal! In his second event, the 500 meter time trial, Koh also had the fastest time and won a second golf medal. We are very excited for Koh and his accomplishments. Way to go Koh, and happy 28^th year wedding anniversary!
