このニュースレター発行までのここ2週間は、春休みもあり、家族みんながそれぞれ別々の方向へ動き回るような慌ただしい毎日となりました。丈は現在、ClearLake高校時代のご友人3人と一緒にパリに行っており、皆テキサス大学の友達です。写真も送ってくれましたが、どうやらロンドンにも足を延ばしたようです。一方、泰はお得なクルーズを見つけて、フロリダのKeyWestとバハマへ出かけました。ビーチで豚と一緒に写っている写真や、豚と一緒に泳いでいる動画、さらには髪をコーンロウに編み込んだ写真まで送ってくれました！？ただ残念なことに、ちょっと置いた隙に携帯電話を盗まれてしまったとのことで、スーザンはVerizonに連絡して家族プランから回線を停止し、さらに泰の新しい携帯電話をどう手配するか対応に追われることになりました。丈はパリへ向かう前にヒューストンへ立ち寄り、Zachをロデオに連れて行ってくれました。スーザンも一緒に、KellyClarksonのコンサートを楽しみ、その後はカーニバルでゲームや乗り物も満喫しました。うちの息子たちはこうしたカーニバルゲームになるといつも本気で、とても負けず嫌いです。今回も大きなYAKを2つ勝ち取るまで諦めませんでした。ロデオといえば、SusanとKohはLukeBryanのパフォーマンスを観に行き、さらにMattTakahashiさんがヒューストンに来られた際には、Susanが国際委員会のクロージングパーティーとロデオ、そしてCreedのコンサートにもご案内しました。そうです、Mattさんにとってこれが人生初のロデオでした。先週末には、スーザンと攻は一緒に「そろそろ見頃かもしれない」と思い、bluebonnetを探しに出かけましたが、例年よく行く場所を回ってみても、今年はなぜかほとんど咲いていませんでした。もしかすると時期を逃してしまったのかもしれません。家族のニュースとしては、先週攻のお父様が転倒されるという事故がありました。レントゲンの結果、首の上部の骨を3か所骨折していることがわかり、とても心配しております。幸いにも、会話もでき、食事も取れており、機能面ではしっかりされていますが、現在は入院中で、数日中にはリハビリ病院へ移る予定です。どうかお祈りの中に覚えていただけましたら幸いです。
The past two weeks since this newsletter had our whole family going in different directions because of spring break. Joe is now in Paris with three friends from Clear Lake High School, who also go to University of Texas with him. He sent us some pictures and it looks like they went over to London as well! Meanwhile, Ty found a good deal on a cruise and ended up going to Florida’s Key West and then to The Bahamas. He sent us some pictures of him on the beach with a pig, a video of him swimming with a pig, and a picture of him with cornrolls braided into his hair!? We also got bad news that his phone got stolen when he set it down, so Susan had to deal with Verizon to get his line suspended off our plan + figure out how to get Ty another phone. 🙁 Meanwhile, Joe stoppped by Houston before he went to Paris, to bring Zach to the rodeo. Together with Susan, they went to see the Kelly Clarkson concert (excellent) and to play games and ride rides at the carnival. Our boys are always super competitive when it comes to these carnival games and they did not give up before winning two large YAKS! Speaking of the rodeo, Susan and Koh went to watch Luke Bryan perform, and when Matt Takahashi came to visit Houston, Susan brought him to her international committee’s closing party + the rodeo + the Creed concert (hard rockers!). And yes, this was Matt’s FIRST RODEO! Susan and Koh decided to go hunting for bluebonnets last weekend, thinking this must be the season for them, but weirdly after going to all the usual spots, there were very few bluebonnets blooming this year. Maybe we missed the season?! In family news, Koh’s father had an accident and fell last week. We are worried about him in the hospital as x-rays show he broke one of his upper neck bones in 3 places. He is fully functional, talking, and eating but is hospitalized for now, though slated to move to a rehabilitation hospital in the coming days. Please keep him in your prayers.
