前回のニュースレターが発行された時、攻はカリフォルニア州カーソンで開催された UCI マスターズ トラック サイクリング世界選手権で最後のスプリント レースに出場していました。彼の対戦相手は、オーストラリア出身のアラン・タウンゼントという非常に強いレーサーでした。 3 レース中、 2 レース勝った方が優勝となる仕組みになっており、最初のレースはタウンセンドが勝ちました。2レース目は攻が勝ち、最終レースでは素晴らしい動きと力強いスプリント力を持った攻が勝利し見事に世界チャンピオンに輝きました。攻が表彰台に上がったとき、レースのリプレイが流れたり、日本の国歌である君が代が流れたりと、とても思い出に残る経験となりました。合計で、 8 レースに出場した攻は、4 人のレーサーを破り、メンズ 55-59 歳のカテゴリーで金メダルを獲得しました。日本はまた、スプリントレースでそれぞれの年齢カテゴリーで優勝した他の 2 人のレーサーを称えました。男子 50-54 部門で市本 隆二 選手、男子 36-40 部門で伊藤 信 選手が優勝しました。今年の大会に参加した世界中の素晴らしいレーサーの皆さん、おめでとうございます。来年の大会はイギリスのマンチェスターで開催されます！ Koh の最終レース是非、以下のURLからご覧ください: https://youtu.be/xCqOzN8DNbs

On the day and hour that our last newsletter went out, Koh was just about to start his final Sprint race at the UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships,held in Carson, California. His opponent was a very strong racer from Australia named Alan Townsend.  It was a best two out of three series and Townsend won the first race.  Koh came back and won the second race.  And, on the third race, Koh did some nice movements and strong sprinting to win!  It was super exciting to watch his race and to hear KIMIGAYO, Japan’s national anthem, when Koh took the podium. In the semi finals, Koh beat Frederick Stanage of the United States in 2 races. Altogether, Koh raced 8 races and beat 4 racers to take home the gold in the Mens 55-59 age category. Japan also celebrated two other racers who also won the Sprint race in their age categories. Ryuji Ichimoto won in the Mens 50-54 category and Shin Itoh won in the Mens 36-40 category.  Congratulations to all the fine racers from all over the world who participated in this year’s competition. 辛いラーメンがお好きな方には必見、 来週末にヒューストンに新しい坦々麺のレストラン、「キラーヌードル」がオープンする予定です！とても辛そうな名前ですね！ 場所は、 1835 N. Shepherd Dr. Houston, TX 77008 と Heightsエリアで、予定されているグランド オープンは 10月15 日です。 Killer Noodle はすでにロサンゼルスで人気のラーメン店であり、カリフォルニア州以外に出店するのはヒューストンが初めてです。 テキサス州ヒューストンへようこそ! こちらの有名ラーメン店は、2016 年に辻田雄大氏によって東京で始まりました。 彼はロサンゼルスとサン ガブリエル バレーに、Tsujita LA Artisan Noodle や Killer Noodle など、いくつかのラーメン店をオープンし、ヒューストンに彼の本格的なラーメン店、激辛麺屋さんが来るなんてワクワクします！ メニューを拝見したい方は是非https://www.killernoodle.com/menu からチェックして見てください。 早く食べに行きたいです！

Who likes spicy noodle soup?!  There is a new Tan Tan Men restaurant opening in Houston next weekend and it is called “Killer Noodle”.  What a name! The location will be in The Heights area at 1835 N. Shepherd Dr. Houston, TX 77008, and the scheduled grand opening is Oct 15! This is not a new concept. Killer Noodle is already a hit ramen restaurant in Los Angeles and this Houston location will be the first time they open a shop outside of California. Yay for Houston, TX! Killer Noodle started in Tokyo in 2016 by a man named Takehiro Tsujita. He opened several successful noodle shops including Tsujita LA Artisan Noodle and Killer Noodle in L.A. and San Gabriel Valley. The Greater Houston Partnership and the City of Houston, in collaboration with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Cole Chemical, and Glen Gondo will be holding a trade and investment mission to Japan. Mayor Sylvester Turner and Bob Harvey, President and CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership, will lead the delegation from October 22 to October 30, 2022. Key objectives of the visit will be to promote Houston as the best city in the U.S. for business and investment and to connect Houston businesses with partners abroad. Susan will join the entourage, representing Annoura Realty Group. It should be an exciting opportunity to meet new potential business partners and a great chance to visit some of our existing clients in Tokyo. While in Japan, Susan will also join the USJC Conference, where Mayor Turner will be one of the guest speakers.

These Annoura Realty Group Welcome Buckets are a labor of love! We order things such as toilet paper, paper towel, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, sponges, trash cans, snacks, water, Cup Noodle, utensil sets, shampoo/conditioner/body soap, even Texas BEER! All items are put into a Texas Bucket from Lowe’s and branded with our company sticker. This time again, we partnered with AMCAP Mortgage Laura Haines for any of our newcomers who may become homebuyers after their lease is up. With our new supply of Welcome Buckets, are ready to welcome our next wave of new expats! 

JBAH (ヒューストン日本商工会) は、オークハースト ゴルフ クラブで 9 月 18 日 日曜日にテキサス会ゴルフ「総領事杯」を開催しました。 丈は UT から一時帰宅しての参加となり、スーザンも参加しました。ショットガンスタートだったので、スーザンは16番ホールから不安定なスタートを始めました。ダブル、トリプル、ダブル。  9ホール回り30年以来のベストスコアとなる41を叩き出し、トータルスコア96で終了となりました（笑）。 特別な採点システムにより、スーザンは女性部門で 3 位になり、丈は 39-45 で男性部門で 10 位になりました。 とても楽しい 1 日となりました。スーザンは「ピンに近い」パー 3 の 1 つとレディース ロング ドライブ コンテストで優勝できて嬉しかったです！

The JBAH (Japanese Business Association of Houston) held their Texas Kai Golf Tournament on Sunday September 18 at the Oakhurst Golf Club. Joe came back from UT to participate, and Susan also played in a separate foursome. It was a shotgun start so Susan began on hole 16 to shakey start- double, triple, double.  Oh no! Coming around the front 9, she managed to shoot a 30 year best 41, then ended with a total score 96 (haha). With the special scoring system, Susan came in 3rd place for the ladies category and Joe’s 39-45 earned him 10th place in the men’s category.  All in all, it was a very fun day and Susan was happy to win one of the ‘near pin’ par 3’s and the ladies long drive contest.  Yay!
