    スーザンは日本から帰国して以来、まさに「ノンストップ」の毎日を送っています。帰国後すぐにオースティンへ向かい、その足でサウスカロライナへ飛び、さらにバイラー大学時代の友人たちと数日間サウスカロライナで過ごしました。その友人の一人、キャシー・ハーン・ゲンツェルさんは、実は1994年のスーザンの結婚式にも参加していた大切な存在で、それ以来一度しか会えていなかったそうです。30年ぶりにたっぷりと時間を過ごすことができ、チャールストンの観光を楽しみました。キャシーさんは素晴らしい旅のプランナーで、地元の見どころを完璧に把握しており、どこも素敵な場所ばかりでした。旅の途中で、キャシーさんの大学時代のルームメイト、ケリー・マッコートさんも合流し、3人で**Isle of Palms（パームス島）**という島を訪れました。Folly Beachを訪れ、地元で有名なRita’sで絶品のフライド・カレイサンドイッチを堪能したり、貝殻を探したり、日光浴を楽しんだりと、久しぶりの再会に心温まる時間を過ごしました。一方、海軍士官学校にいるタイにはサプライズで親友ジャック・フォルティン君とそのご家族が訪問。ジャックは空軍士官学校に通っており、体操チームに所属しています。ちょうど先週末に海軍と空軍の体操チームの対抗試合があったため、一家でアナポリスを訪れていたのです。カニを食べたり、リラックスした時間を過ごしたタイの様子が写真からも伝わってきました。オースティンでは、丈が期末試験に追われるハードな1週間を乗り切りました。ヒューストンでは、コウがザックと一緒にしっかりとお留守番。ザックは先週火曜日にゴルフの大会で好成績を収め、明日はWestbrook 中学校（通っている中学校）の代表として地区大会に出場します。頑張れ、ザック！

    It’s been go-go-go for Susan, who came back from Japan, immediately left for Austin, then immediately went to South Carolina,  then stayed in South Carolina with some friends from her Baylor days for a few extra days. One friend, Kathy Hahn Gentzel was actually a part of Susan’s wedding back in 1994 and the two had only seen each other once since then. It was so good to spend quality time with Kathy, sightseeing around Charleston. Kathy is an excellent trip planner and knew all the hotspots to check! A couple days into this personal trip, Kathy’s roommate from Baylor, Kelly McCourt flew into town and the three of them went to an island called Isle of Palms. It was great fun visiting Folly Beach, eating at Rita’s (best fried flounder sandwich ever!), and looking for seashells/laying in the sun, and just spending time with each other after being apart for 30 years. Ty at the Naval Academy got a surprise visit from his best from Jack Foltyn and the Foltyn family. Jack attends the Air Force Academy and is on the gymnastic team there. Last weekend, his gymnastic team went against the gymnastic team of the Naval Academy which is why the whole Foltyn clan was in town! We are sure that Ty had an excellent time hanging out with Jack, as we saw pictures of him eating crab and relaxing in his off time. Over in Austin, poor Joe went through a series of difficult mid term tests last week. In Houston, Koh held the fort down with Zach, who had a successful golf tournament last Tuesday. He represents his middle school, Westbrook Intermediate tomorrow in his district golf tournament. Gambare, Zach!

    Annika Charlotta Sörenstam（アニカ・シャーロッタ・ソレンスタム）氏は、スウェーデン出身のプロゴルファーで、史上最高の女子ゴルファーの一人とされています。2008年シーズン終了をもって競技から一線を退くまでに、国際大会で96勝を挙げており、女子ゴルフ界で最も多くの勝利数を誇っています。彼女が設立したANNIKA Foundationは、ゴルフと人生を通じて世界中の若い女性の成長、エンパワーメント、前進を目的としており、ジュニア、大学、プロレベルでの女性ゴルファーに機会を提供すると同時に、フィットネスや栄養を通じた健康的でアクティブなライフスタイルの重要性についても若い世代に伝える活動を行っています。今回、USJCの同僚でありANNIKA FoundationのCEOであるRob Ohno氏からの招待により、Cole Chemical（CEO: Donna Cole氏）が企業スポンサーの一社として参加することになりました。Donna氏はスーザンと、アリゾナ州フェニックスの友人シャロンを3月28日〜29日にサウスカロライナ州アイケンで開催された「More than Golf」イベントに招待しました。このイベントでは、女子D1カレッジゴルフトーナメント（優勝はGeorgia Southern University）が開催され、24名の女性エグゼクティブたちが夕食レセプションにて学生アスリートと交流を深める機会を持ちました。また、エグゼクティブ女性たちはゴルフクリニックや、Old Barnwellの「キッズコース」と呼ばれるややチャレンジングなコースでのラウンドにも参加しました。大学ゴルファーたちにとっては、実際にビジネス界で活躍する女性たちと出会う貴重な経験となり、スーザンにとっても、若い頃に競技ゴルフをしていた頃を思い出す非常に意義深い時間となりました。才能ある若者たちにメンターとして関われたことは、何より楽しい経験だったようです。イベントの詳細は以下よりご覧いただけます：https://www.annikafoundation.org/post/georgia-southern-university-takes-home-the-team-and-individual-title-at-the-inaugural-more-than-golf

    Annika Charlotta Sörenstam is a Swedish professional golfer regarded as one of the best female golfers in history. Before stepping away from competitive golf at the end of the 2008 season, she had won 96 international professional tournaments, making her the female golfer with the most wins to her name. The ANNIKA Foundation aims to develop, empower and advance young women around the world through golf and in life. More specifically, we provide opportunities in women’s golf at the junior, collegiate and professional levels while teaching young people the importance of personal development, including living a healthy, active lifestyle through fitness and nutrition. Invited by USJC colleague Rob Ohno, the CEO of the ANNIKA Foundation, Donna Cole’s Cole Chemical agreed to be one of the corporate sponsors. Donna invited Susan and her friend Sharon from Phoenix to join the More than Golf event in Aiken, South Carolina from March 28-29. This event included a female D1 Collegiate golf tournament (won by Georgia Southern University) and 24 executive women who had a chance to meet and network at a wonderful dinner reception. The 24 executive women also had the chance to attend a golf clinic and to play a round of golf on the (challenging) “kids course” at Old Barnwell. It was a meaningful event for these college golfers to meet the executive women and for Susan, it brought back fond memories of her younger years playing competitive golf.     先週のサンクスギビングホリデーは、案浦家の男子たちが全員帰省し、5月以来初めて家族5人が揃いました！特に嬉しかったのは、アナポリスから休暇で4日半帰ってきた泰との再会でした。なんと、スティーブン・イェーガーさんが海軍士官学校から泰を迎えに行き、ボルチモア空港まで送ってくれたんです。本当に感謝です！制服姿で帰省、「シビーズ」に着替えるのを楽しみにしていました。「シビーズ」とは、一般の人が着る普通の服を意味する言葉です。彼が自分の服を着られるのは「休暇中」のみで、このサンクスギビングが初めての休暇だったので特別な時間でした。親友たちとも再会し、毎日（そして毎晩！）クリアレイク周辺を駆け回っていましたが、昨日の朝、再びメリーランドに戻っていきました。丈は先週の土曜日にテキサス大学から帰ってきて、到着するやいなやスーザンとクラレの友人たちとゴルフコースに直行。1週間の間、ほぼ毎日ゴルフを楽しみ、金曜日の夜にはカレッジステーションで行われるテキサス大学対A&Mの試合に向かいました。案浦家では、スーザンのご両親と食事を楽しんだり、家族5人でレイクリビングストンへの日帰り旅行に出かけ、サンクスギビング当日には州立公園をハイキングしました。家族が揃ったことに一番喜んでいたのは、やっぱりスーザンだったかもしれませんね！

    With Thanksgiving holiday last week, all the Annoura boys returned home and we were a family of 5 for the first time since May. It was especially exciting to see Ty, who flew home from Annapolis on leave for 4.5 days. Thank you to Stephen Yeager for picking him up at the Naval Academy and bringing him to Baltimore Airport for us! Ty arrived in uniform and was excited to change into ‘civies’ which is a word that means normal clothes for civilians. He is allowed to wear his own clothes only when he is ‘on leave’ and this Thanksgiving break was his first time to have leave. He met up with his best friends and ran around Clear Lake every day (and night) until he went back to Maryland yesterday morning. Joe returned from University of Texas last Saturday and immediately jumped on the golf course with Susan and her Kuraray friends. He spend his one week golfing almost everyday until he left on Friday night for the UT vs. A&M game in College Station. The Annouras enjoyed a few meals with Susan’s parents and the family of five also took a one day trip to Lake Livingston and hiked around the state park on Thanksgiving Day. Susan was probably the happiest of all to have all the boys home!

    第576回テキサス会ゴルフ「商工会会長杯」

    昨日、JBAHゴルフトーナメント（第576回テキサス会ゴルフ「商工会会長杯」）がテキサス州ポーターのオークハーストゴルフクラブで開催されました。丈は参加するためにオースティンから一時帰省し、初めてスーザンとペアリングすることができました。東京ガスの高橋さん、ＫＤＤＩの若林さんと対戦しました。天気は信じられないほど完璧で、丈の彼女のサナもカートに乗ってコースについて行きました。結局、ジョーは4バーディ、7パーのイーブン81をマークし、スーザンは2バーディ、5パーの91の結果となりました。丈はニアピンコンテストの 1 つで優勝し、スーザンはロングドライブコンテストの 1 つで優勝しました。いつものように、たくさんの友人やクライアントに会えてとても楽しかったです。主催者様、スポンサー様ありがとうございました。来年、同じタイミングでトーナメントが開催されるなら、ロデオコンサートのチケットを寄付いたします！

    The JBAH Golf Tournament (第576回テキサス会ゴルフ「商工会会長杯」) was held yesterday at the Oakhurst Golf Club in Porter, TX. Joe came home from Austin to participate and for the first, time, the pairings put him together with Susan! They played with Mr. Takahashi from Tokyo Gas and Mr. Wakabayashi from KDDI. The weather was incredibly perfect and Joe’s girlfriend Sana followed along in her cart. In the end, Joe shot a 81 even with 4 birdies and 7 pars. Susan shot a 91 with 2 birdies and 5 pars. Joe won one of the near pin contests and Susan on one of the long drive contests. As always, it was a lot of fun to see many of our friends and clients. Thank you to the organizers and sponsors. Next year if the tournament is around the same timing, I have to remember to donate some rodeo concert tickets. I think that would make great gifts!

    第574回 テキサス杯 ゴルフ大会が昨日5月21日にテキサス州ポーターのオークハースト ゴルフ クラブで開催されました。男性80名、女性9名の計89名が参加申し込みをしました。 2ホールのロングドライブコンテスト賞と、パー3ホールのピンに最も近いホール賞がありました。驚くほど涼しい天候の中スーザンは、他3人の選手（2人は千代田、1人は伊藤忠商事）と同じグループでの戦いとなりました。女子ティーボックスが男子ティーボックスのほぼ隣にあったため、スーザンにとってこの日は挑戦的な日ろとなりました。ホールは非常に長く、フェアウェイは非常に狭く、何度も木に当たり、さらにバンカーから打ち出すことに苦戦…。2ストロークのペナルティを数回受ける結果となりました。最終的に、スコアは酷い結果となりましたが (100+) 、なんとダブルペリア方式で順位を決定するので、スーザンはレディース部門で 1 位を獲得することができました！今大会も素敵な賞品がたくさんありました。スーザンさんはDAIKINからの加湿空気清浄機を獲得しました。多くのお客様達に会えて楽しい時間を過ごせました。共に楽しい時間を過ごしてくれたグループの皆様にもとても感謝しています。

    The 574th Texas Kai Golf Tournament happened yesterday, May 21 at the Oakhurst Golf Club in Porter, TX.  89 people signed up to participate, 80 men and 9 women.  There were awards for the long drive contest on two holes as well as awards for nearest to the pin on the par 3 holes. The weather was surprisingly cool. Susan was paired with three other players, two from Chiyoda and one from Itochu. It was a challenging day for Susan because the ladies tee box was pretty much right next to the mens tee box. The holes were very long and the fairways were very tight. Susan ran into tree trouble multiple times and took several two stroke penalties because she did not want to try hitting out of the sand for fear of bigger disasters. In the end, her score was terrible (could not break 100) but thanks to the very interesting Double Peoria System, Susan ended up getting first place in the ladies division! There were so many neat prizes this tournament.  Susan won a DAIKIN humidifier air purification machine. Good fun seeing many of our clients on the golf course and a big thank you to my group for a very fun time together!
