テキサス不動産協会 冬季ミーティング
ご存じでしたか？ヒューストンには約5万人の不動産エージェントが、そしてテキサス州全体では約15万人ものエージェントが活動しています。ダラス、オースティン、サンアントニオ、その他のテキサスの都市をすべて合わせても、全体の約3分の1がヒューストンに集中しているということになります！私たちの地元の不動産協会はHAR（Houston Association of Realtors）ですが、テキサス全体の不動産協会はTexas Realtorsです。多くの重要な決定事項は州レベルで決められ、その影響が各地域の業務に波及します。さらに、テキサス不動産協会には、州都オースティンの議会で住宅所有者にとって重要な問題に取り組む強力なロビー活動チームがあります。例えば、固定資産税の負担軽減、住宅所有者協会（HOA）の権限抑制、売却時の譲渡税導入の阻止など、住宅所有者にとって有利な政策を推進しています。毎年、テキサス不動産協会は冬季ミーティングを開催し、こうした問題について議論し、政策や方針を決定します。今年のミーティングは2月7日から2月11日までオースティンで開催されており、最終日の2月11日には理事会が行われます。スーザンは、ヒューストン地域を代表するRegional Vice Presidentとしてエグゼクティブ委員会に所属しており、この5日間オースティンで会議に参加しています。また、テキサス不動産協会の新たなリーダーシップ体制についてもお知らせです。長年、CEOとしてテキサス不動産協会を率いてきたトラヴィス・ケスラー氏が、今月ついに退任します。そして、現在Executive Vice Presidentを務めるマイク・バーネット氏が、新たなCEOとして就任することになりました。トラヴィスさん、マイクさん、おめでとうございます！
Did you know in Houston, there are about 50,000 realtors and in Texas, there are about 150,000? That means out of all the cities in Texas (Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and all the other smaller cities throughout Texas), almost one-third are here in Houston! While HAR is our local realtor association, Texas Realtors is our state realtor association. Many issues are decided on the state level and trickle down to the way we do business on the local level. The state level also has a very strong advocacy team that fights for issues important to homeowners at the Capitol in Austin, such as keeping property taxes affordable, containing the power of the homeowners associations, and banning harmful expenses such as transfer taxes when people sell their properties. Once a year, Texas Realtors has their Winter Meetings where issues are discussed and policies and positions are developed. This meeting is taking place right now in Austin, going from Feb 7 and ending with the board meeting on Feb 11. Susan serves on the executive committee as a Regional Vice President representing Houston, and is in Austin for those 5 days!
