    The Houston Rodeo is one of my favorite events in Houston.  It’s like a huge festival for the whole city and it continues for 3 whole weeks. If you have never been to the rodeo, you must go check it out at least once! Beware that weekday and weekends, the rodeo starts at differnet times. Weekday rodeos start at 6:45pm. The entertainer takes the stage at approximately 8:45 p.m. NRG Stadium gates open at 6 p.m. Weekend rodeos start at 3:45 p.m. The entertainer takes the stage at approximately 5:45 p.m. NRG Stadium gates open at 3 p.m. But, you can get onto the grounds much earlier and I recommend that you do! On the grounds is a huge carnival where the parking lot normally is, and inside Reliant Center (next to Reliant Stadium) has lots of shopping and many kinds of animals. There is also a Champions Wine Garden with several live music stages. One of my favorite things to do is to buy a bottle of wine on a beautiful day, sit with friends, and listen to the live music! And now…I hope you are reading closely!  Annoura Realty Group is giving away a pair of tickets to the concert on March 18 for Brad Paisley.   • 案浦不動産 クリスマスパーティー

    パーティー、パーティー、さらにパーティー！先週はパーティーでとても忙しい週となりました。毎年恒例案浦不動産クリスマスパーティーは、I10沿いの610、ベルトウェイ 8 の間に位置する、地元経営のレストラン、KP’s Kitchenでの開催となりました。オーナーは、ロデオヒューストン国際委員会の2023年委員長であるランディ・ポーリーの兄弟であるケリー・ポーリーです。スーザンと真理子は 12月12日に開催された募金活動でランディとケリーに会い、今年のパーティーはKP’s Kitchenに決定しました。サイプレス、ケイティ、クリアレイクからエージェントを集め、シェフが選んだおまかせメニューをいただきました！シャルキュトリーボード、アーティチョークディップ、チキンフィンガー（私のお気に入り！）など、4〜5種類の前菜から始まり、リブ (お肉がこぼれるぐらい柔らかい!)、ハンバーガー、ホットチキンサンドイッチ、アジアサラダ サーモンのグリル添え、レッドフィッシュ、ローズマリー レモンチキン (とても美味しい！) などのメインコースをいただきました。サイドには、メイン州産のじゃがいもから作った自家製トリュフ フライドポテト (オススメの一品!)、芽キャベツ、カリフラワーと、とても豪華なブランチとなりました。また、デザートには、チーズケーキ、キーライムのタルト、アップルクランブルアラモード（絶品）をいただきました。今年一年を振り返り、来年に向けての目標を共有した後、ロブのオフィスに行き、新しい社員の写真を撮りました。悲しいことに、さまざまな理由で4人のエージェントが不在となりましたが、私たち5人とスーザンの長男である丈(丈、来月不動産免許の取得、頑張って!) は素晴らしい時間を共に過ごしました。皆さん、2023年もどうぞよろしくお願いいたします！


    Parties, parties, and more parties! Last week was such a busy week for parties so we decided to add one more, our Annoura Realty Group company party! This year we had our get together at KP’s Kitchen, a locally owned restaurant off I-10, between 610 and Beltway 8. The owner is Kerry Pauly, the brother of Randy Pauly, the 2023 chairman for the International Committee for Rodeo Houston. Susan and Mariko met Randy and Kerry at a fundraiser on December 12 and decided KP’s Kitchen would be a central location for the Annoura Realty Group agents. Coming from Cypress, Katy, and Clear Lake, we met at this convenient location for a chef chosen set lunch. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! We started off with 4-5 different appetizers such as the charcuterie board, artichoke dip, and chicken fingers (my favorite!). We then moved to multiple main courses to share, including the ribs (wow, excellent!), a burger, hot chicken sandwich, Asian salad with grilled salmon, redfish, rosemary lemon chicken (excellent). The side dishes included homemade truffle fries made from potatos from Maine (loved them!), brussel sprouts, and cauliflower. And, for desserts, we tried the Creme Fraiche Cheesecake, key lime tart, and the apple crumble ala mode (excellent). After we shared our reflections and goals, we went to Rob’s office to take some new company pictures! Sadly, we had four agents out for various reasons but the five of us plus Susan’s oldest son Joe (good luck, Joe, on getting your real estate license next month!), had a great time together. Cheers to 2023, everyone!

  • テキサス西部での旅行 オススメ スポット！

    サンクスギビングは、子供たちと過ごす1週間となりました。 丈はテキサス大学から一時帰省、ザックと泰は学校がお休みでした。 週初めの数日間、インフルエンザのような症状と闘った後、案浦家は攻のトラックで、テキサス州西部への旅行に出発しました。 旅行のハイライトのいくつかと、オススメスポットの紹介をします。 まず、テキサス州バンデラを見に行き、フライング L ランチ リゾートに宿泊しました。 私たちが行ったときはまあまあの天気でしたが、暖かくなったらリゾート内のゴルフコースを楽しんだり、マシュマロを焼きながらキャンプをしたり、テニス、バスケットボール、水泳、 卓球、サンドバレーボールなど楽しめる場所満載です。場所は一種のカウボーイ リゾートなので、日や季節によっては乗馬や、ワゴンライド、西洋のエンターテイメントもあります。 とても美味しい朝食を楽しめるレストランもありました！ 次に、Vanderpoolに位置する Lost Maples State Parkに行き、自然の中でハイキングを楽しみました。 Lost Maples は、秋に訪れる私のお気に入りの州立公園の 1つです。何百本もの美しいカエデの木の紅葉が楽しめます。 残念ながら、今回は地面は泥だらけでハイキングはチャレンジとなりましたが、景色はとても素晴らしいものが見れました。最後に、お子様のいる人、そしていない人たちも是非ジョンソンシティのエキゾチック リゾート動物園をチェックしてみてください。 丈と泰が小さい頃は何度か連れてきましたが、ザックと一緒に楽しむ様子を見せたくて今年再度家族勢揃いで行ってきました！アンテロープ、バッファロー、ヤク、ダチョウ、ラマ、シマウマ、ラクダ、ヤギ、ガゼルなど、多くの動物に餌をあげながら、ガイド付きのトラクターに乗って楽しい時間を過ごしました。Webサイトをチェックすると45種以上、700以上の動物がいるみたいです！もし行く機会のある方は、サファリの敷地にある彼らのキャビンに一晩宿泊してみてはどうですか？ 動物園のスタッフによると、宿泊人はサファリツアーが付いてくるのでとてもお得といっていました！最後に、時間に余裕のある方は、ドリッピング スプリングスに立ち寄りソルト リックと呼ばれる場所で美味しい牛カルビを試してみてください。 もっと食べたいという方には、食べ放題をオススメします。 コールスロー、ビーンズ、ポテトサラダが付いて約35ドルのお手頃価格となっています！

    Thanksgiving holiday gave us one week with the kids.  Joe came back from University of Texas and Zach/Ty were off from class. After fighting flu like symptoms the first few days of the week, the Annouras piled into Koh’s truck and left for a road trip to West Texas. Here are some of the highlights of the trip and some recommendations if you are looking for some good ideas. First, check out Bandera, TX and stay at the Flying L Ranch Resort. When we went, the weather was kind of so-so, but if you go when it’s warmer, there is a full golf course at the resort as well as many fun activities for kids including campires while roasting marshmallows, tennis, basketball, swimming, ping pong, sand volleyball, etc. The place is kind of a cowboy resort so there is also horse back riding, wagon rides, and western entertainment depending on the day and season. There was also a restaurant that served a nice breakfast! Second, we went to Lost Maples State Park in Vanderpool to hike through nature. Lost Maples is one of my favorite state parks in the autumn, where there are hundreds of beautiful maple trees turning yellow, orange, and red. Unfortunately, the ground was wet and muddy and messy but the views were very nice and the hike was fairly challenging. Third, if you have kids or even if you don’t have kids, check out the Exotic Resort Zoo in Johnson City. We brought Joe and Ty here several times when they were little but we wanted to show enjoy it with Zach. Turns out everyone had a great time on the guided tractor ride, feeding all the amazing animals: antelopes, buffalos, yaks, ostriches, llamas, zebras, camels, goats, gazelles, etc. I checked the website and it says there are over 700 animals on the grounds representing 45+ species roaming around in their open safar park! It was totally awesome and if you go, try to maybe even stay overnight at one of their cabins on the safari grounds. The announcer said people who stay there get to do the safari tour included so that would be worth the money! Finally, if you can go a tiny bit further please stop by Dripping Springs for some of the best BBQ at a place called Salt Lick.  Try the fabulous beef ribs or if you are very hungry, for the all you can eat! It is awesome and comes with cole slaw, beans, and potato salad for about $35. It’s worth it!

  • 日本への旅行で最も思い出に残ったこと

    日本はまだ記憶に新しいので、私のお気に入りの写真、観察、旅行での一番の思い出を皆さんと共有したいと思います! もちろん、ヒューストン市長と一緒に旅行できたのはとても光栄なことでした。東京ではマスクの着用、ヒューストンと成田を往復する機内（そう、14時間のフライト）でもマスクを着用していました。マスクをまったく着用しないことに慣れているテキサスから来た人々にとって、少しストレスが溜まる経験となりました。先週末、明治神宮内で行われている日本の結婚式の行列に遭遇できて幸運でした。そのシーンは、はがきに出てくるような写真の一枚となりました。ハロウィーン前の土曜日の夜、渋谷交差点は非常に忙しかったです。日本は「DJポリス」と呼ばれるものを実装して、歩行者の交通量をうまく緩和していました。週の初めに、私のグループは、私が 20 年間夢見てきた時計を探し出すために三越に訪れる時間を見つけました。 1ドル150円近い為替レートとUSパスポートの免税特典を見て、思い切って購入しました！東京にいる間、私たちの代表団はグランドハイアット東京に滞在しました。滞在する機会のある人は是非、2階にある素晴らしい朝食バイキングをお試しください。また、5階にあるとても素敵なジムとプールをチェックしてください。私たちの料金には朝食が含まれており、ジムと屋内プールの使用は無料だったので、毎朝トレーニングに行き、水泳に1回行きました！悪い点は、トレーニング中のジムでも、マスク着用が必要だったことです！ 24 年間知っている 4 人の特別な友人たちとの出会いは、この旅行のハイライトの 1 つでした。ミエさん + 旦那さんのケイゾーさん、トモコさん、ヒカルさんです。私の故郷である福岡は昔と比べて大きく変わりました。街は本当に綺麗になり、街灯に女の子のポスターが貼られることはもうありません。今ではウォーターフロント エリアに沿って美しいカフェや歩道があります。多くの古いデパートは取り壊され、建て替えられています。夜の30分間の博多川クルーズに1000円で参加してみましたが、最高でした！のこのしまアイランドパークはいつものように完璧でしたが、今では 10 棟の真新しいモダンな家 (2022 年 7 月に建てられた) で、博多湾を見下ろす家に一晩滞在することができます。草津は行ったことのない場所でしたが、こんなに美しい紅葉を見て驚きました (私は秋の紅葉が大好きです!)。温泉の温度はちょうどよく、きのこの天ぷらを添えた水沢うどんは抜群でした。食べ物といえば、六本木ヒルズ内にある手打蕎麦　欅のそば、西麻布のとんかつ 豚組、千葉の栄寿司、もちろん浅草のフランス料理店ナベノイズム、 Bricolage Bread & Co.、草津の旅館「季の庭」、福岡の吉塚うなぎ屋、福岡のあまの屋の新鮮な刺身。とても思い出に残る旅となりました！

    With Japan still fresh in my mind, I want to share with you some of my favorite pictures, observations, and top memories from my trip! Of course traveling with the Mayor of Houston was an honor, along with all the amazing people that were part of our delegation. Tokyo was still masking, even while walking on the streets, and so was ANA on the flights (yes, the 14 hour flights) to and from Houston to Narita. The masking was a little stressful for the folks coming from Texas who are now used to not wearing masks at all. We were lucky to catch a Japanese wedding procession taking place inside Meiji Jingu Shrine last weekend. I caught a postcard worthy picture of that scene. Shibuya Scramble was incredibly busy the Saturday night before Halloween. Japan implemented something called the “DJ Police” to nicely mitigate walking traffic. Early in the week, my group found time to hit a Mitsukoshi to hunt down a watch I have been dreaming about for 20 years. With the exchange rate at nearly 150 yen to the dollar and the tax-free incentive with my US Passport, I decided to go ahead and buy it! While in Tokyo, our delegation stayed at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo and if you ever stay there, be sure to eat at their excellent breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor and to check out their super nice gym and pool on the 5th floor. Our rate included breakfast and using the gym and indoor pool was surprisingly free, so I went every morning for a workout and once for a swim! The bad part is that even in the gym while working out, they made us mask up! Meeting up with four special friends that I have known for 24 years was one of the highlights of my trip- Mie + Mie’s husband Keizo, Tomoko, and Hikaru. Fukuoka, my old hometown, has changed a lot. The city has really cleaned itself up- no more girl posters all over the light posts, now it has beautiful cafes and walkways along the waterfront areas. Many older department stores have been demolished and are being replaced. We tried out the 30 minute Hakata River Cruise at night and for 1000 yen, it was totally awesome! Nokonoshima Island Park was as perfect as it always has been and now with their 10 brand new modern homes (built in July of 2022), one can stay overnight in a home overlooking Hakata Bay, which is going on my to-do list next time I go visit. Kusatsu is a place I had never been and was nicely surprised to see such beautiful fall foliage (I just love the red leaves of autumn!). The hot springs ‘onsen’ water was just right and the mizusawa udon with mushroom tempura was outstanding. Speaking of food, some of the highlights include: Soba at a restaurant inside Roppongi Hills called Teuchi Soba Keyaki, Tonkatsu in Nishi Azabu called Butagumi, Sushi in Chiba at Sakae Sushi, of course the French restaurant in Asakusa called Nabeno-Ism, brunch at Bricolage Bread & Co., the ryokan in Kusatsu called Tokinoniwa, Unagi at Yoshizuka Unagiya in Fukuoka, and fresh sashimi at Amanoya in Fukuoka. All were awesome, making this trip a true sensory overload!
