    今年のロデオは2月28日に始まり、3月19日まで続きます。ワールドチャンピオン BBQコンテストは、その前の週末である、2月23日から25日まで開催されます。朗報です….！日本のチーム、BBQ Shogun、再びコンテスト参加となります！

    The Houston Rodeo is one of my favorite events in Houston.  It’s like a huge festival for the whole city and it continues for 3 whole weeks. If you have never been to the rodeo, you must go check it out at least once! Beware that weekday and weekends, the rodeo starts at differnet times. Weekday rodeos start at 6:45pm. The entertainer takes the stage at approximately 8:45 p.m. NRG Stadium gates open at 6 p.m. Weekend rodeos start at 3:45 p.m. The entertainer takes the stage at approximately 5:45 p.m. NRG Stadium gates open at 3 p.m. But, you can get onto the grounds much earlier and I recommend that you do! On the grounds is a huge carnival where the parking lot normally is, and inside Reliant Center (next to Reliant Stadium) has lots of shopping and many kinds of animals. There is also a Champions Wine Garden with several live music stages. One of my favorite things to do is to buy a bottle of wine on a beautiful day, sit with friends, and listen to the live music!     This year, the rodeo will begin on Feb 28 and will go until March 19.  The World Champion BBQ Contest will be the previous weekend, from Feb 23-25 and Good News….The team from Japan, BBQ Shogun, has been invited back to compete!

    In Mexico, people do not have to have a real estate license to practice real estate, so you need to be careful if you are buying property there. It is highly recommended that if you are buying property, that you use an agent who is a member of AMPI. AMPI is a Mexican real estate association for real estate professionals who adhere to best practices and a code of ethics. There are roughly 5000 members of AMPI and each year they have an annual conference called the Congreso.  The Congreso is held in a different city and as of 2018, the Houston Association of Realtors has sent the chairman of the Global Committee to attend. Susan was the chairman in 2018 so attended her first Congreso in Oaxaca, Mexico. The following year, her agent Pius was the chairman so she went with him to the 2019 Congreso in San Luis Potosi. In 2020, the Congreso was canceled because of COVID, and in 2021, Susan went again to the Congreso, this time in Tampico. Over the years, Susan has made some great relationships with realtors all over Mexico as well as some great relationships with other American realtors who also attend the Congreso every year. This year, the Congreso was held October 12-14 in Tijuana.  A group of about 10 Texas realtors flew to San Diego, then crossed the border into Tijuana. Together, they attended many networking events, the expo, and the convention itself. In attendance in the international delegation was the 2021 NAR President Charlie Oppler, who spoke on stage and led a very beneficial international networking event. There were beautiful parties and dinners and a final gala at the end. Through these international conferences, international connections can be made, which can result in new business!     All realtors are not the same! Some take extra classes and earn special designations depending on their specialties. For example, Susan has taken hundreds of hours of classes and has gotten the designations of CCIM (for commercial real estate), ABR (for working with buyers), and CIPS (for working with international clients).  CIPS stands for Certified International Property Specialist. Very recently, Mariko also took the 5 day series of classes and just submitted her application to the National Association of Realtors.  If all goes well, she will be approved by November, when both she and Susan will travel to Orlando, Florida for NAR’s annual national conference. On Friday Oct 7, HAR.com held a special reception for current and new CIPS realtors. It was a great event attended by many talented realtors, some who travelled from Austin and Dallas. In other exciting news, HAR.com will be rolling out a new platform for Houston realtors to partner with realtors in other countries to advertise and market foreign properties on HAR.com’s new Global International Exchange. Annoura Realty has partnered with Happy Coast in Manzanillo, Mexico and just listed our first five Mexican properties. This week, Oct 12-15, Susan will attend the AMPI Congreso, which is Mexico’s annual real estate conference.  This will be Susan’s 4th year to attend the Congreso, a great place to make international connections!     ヒューストンロデオの最初の10日間は、世界各国のゲストにとって特別な時間であることをご存知ですか？海外のパスポートを持っている方で最近入国したスタンプをお持ちの方は、インターナショナルサロン（NRGセンター2階）で登録をし、特別なバッジを受け取りインターナショナルラウンジに入ることができます。 ラウンジは、国際委員会のメンバーとヒューストンのトップレストランなどから支援されており、ゲストの皆様に毎日美味しいランチを提供しています。 オープンバーや居心地良くくつろげるスペースもあります。 ロデオの国際委員会（スーザン所属）は、バーテンダー、カメラマン（スーザン所属）、歓迎スタッフ、シェフ（金曜日のみ）などで構成されており、ゲストのおもてなしをしています。 牛の審査、ロデオオリンピック、パーティー（新日本総領事である村林さんも招待されました！）、そして女性向けのファッションショーなども行われます。 ロデオ最初の10日間で国際委員会の任務は終了し、ゲストは帰宅します。 来年、ロデオが始まる頃に到着したばかりの人達を知っている方や、到着予定の方々は是非国際ラウンジに招待いたしますのでご連絡ください！

    Not many people know that the first 10 days of the Houston Rodeo is a special time for our international guests.  People with passports and recent entry stamps can register at the international salon (on the 2nd floor of NRG Center) and receive special badges to enter the international lounge. The lounge is sponsored by the members of the international committee and some of Houston’s top restaurants, who provide lunch daily to our international guests.  There is also an open bar and plush sofas to relax on. The international committee of the rodeo (Susan is on this committee) serves as bartenders, photographers (Susan is on the photography team), hospitality staff, and chefs (on Friday only) for our international guests.  There is a day of education, cattle judging, rodeo Olympics, a formal gala (welcome new Consul General wife Mrs. Murabayashi!), and even a fashion show for the ladies. After the first 10 days of the rodeo, the duties of the international committee are finished and our guests go home. Next year, if you know someone new to Houston, arriving around the start of rodeo, contact us so we can bring them to the international lounge!

    メキシコ不動産総会

    メキシコ不動産協会（通称:アンピ “AMPI” ）は毎年、メキシコにある様々な都市で毎年恒例の不動産会を開催しています。 2020年はCOVIDのために中止されましたが、2年ぶりに「コングレソ」の開催となりました。案浦不動産 社長・案浦スーザン、ヒューストン不動産協会・グローバルチェアウーマン、テレサ・ヒル、テキサス州不動産協会グローバルチェアウーマンのブレンダ・テイラーなど、テキサスから全米不動産協会から数人参加しました。その他にもコスタリカ、スペイン、パナマやいくつかの不動産協会の会長と交流する絶好の機会でした。また、ここ数年会うことのできなかったメキシコの友達と再開するとても良い機会でもありました。今回の素晴らしいイベントを主催してくれたメキシコのタンピコに乾杯！マエバビーチリゾートでの最後のパーティーは夢のように素晴らしくシュールなものでした！

    Each year, the Mexican Real Estate Association, AMPI, holds their annual real estate convention in a rotating city in Mexico.  With 2020 being shut down for COVID, 2021 was the first time in two years for AMPI to hold their “Congreso”.  Several realtors from Texas attended, including Annoura Realty Group’s broker, Susan Annoura, Houston Association of Realtors Global Chairwoman, Theresa Hill, and Texas Realtors Global Chairwoman, Brenda Taylor. It was a great time to network with the presidents of several real estate associations from Costa Rica, Spain, and Panama.  It was also a great chance to meet up with friends from Mexico that we have not seen in years. Cheers to Tampico, Mexico for hosting an outstanding AMPI Congreso! The final party at the Maeva Beach Resort was something of a fantastic dream…it was surreal!
