    Annika Charlotta Sörenstam（アニカ・シャーロッタ・ソレンスタム）氏は、スウェーデン出身のプロゴルファーで、史上最高の女子ゴルファーの一人とされています。2008年シーズン終了をもって競技から一線を退くまでに、国際大会で96勝を挙げており、女子ゴルフ界で最も多くの勝利数を誇っています。彼女が設立したANNIKA Foundationは、ゴルフと人生を通じて世界中の若い女性の成長、エンパワーメント、前進を目的としており、ジュニア、大学、プロレベルでの女性ゴルファーに機会を提供すると同時に、フィットネスや栄養を通じた健康的でアクティブなライフスタイルの重要性についても若い世代に伝える活動を行っています。今回、USJCの同僚でありANNIKA FoundationのCEOであるRob Ohno氏からの招待により、Cole Chemical（CEO: Donna Cole氏）が企業スポンサーの一社として参加することになりました。Donna氏はスーザンと、アリゾナ州フェニックスの友人シャロンを3月28日〜29日にサウスカロライナ州アイケンで開催された「More than Golf」イベントに招待しました。このイベントでは、女子D1カレッジゴルフトーナメント（優勝はGeorgia Southern University）が開催され、24名の女性エグゼクティブたちが夕食レセプションにて学生アスリートと交流を深める機会を持ちました。また、エグゼクティブ女性たちはゴルフクリニックや、Old Barnwellの「キッズコース」と呼ばれるややチャレンジングなコースでのラウンドにも参加しました。大学ゴルファーたちにとっては、実際にビジネス界で活躍する女性たちと出会う貴重な経験となり、スーザンにとっても、若い頃に競技ゴルフをしていた頃を思い出す非常に意義深い時間となりました。才能ある若者たちにメンターとして関われたことは、何より楽しい経験だったようです。イベントの詳細は以下よりご覧いただけます：https://www.annikafoundation.org/post/georgia-southern-university-takes-home-the-team-and-individual-title-at-the-inaugural-more-than-golf

    Annika Charlotta Sörenstam is a Swedish professional golfer regarded as one of the best female golfers in history. Before stepping away from competitive golf at the end of the 2008 season, she had won 96 international professional tournaments, making her the female golfer with the most wins to her name. The ANNIKA Foundation aims to develop, empower and advance young women around the world through golf and in life. More specifically, we provide opportunities in women’s golf at the junior, collegiate and professional levels while teaching young people the importance of personal development, including living a healthy, active lifestyle through fitness and nutrition. Invited by USJC colleague Rob Ohno, the CEO of the ANNIKA Foundation, Donna Cole’s Cole Chemical agreed to be one of the corporate sponsors. Donna invited Susan and her friend Sharon from Phoenix to join the More than Golf event in Aiken, South Carolina from March 28-29. This event included a female D1 Collegiate golf tournament (won by Georgia Southern University) and 24 executive women who had a chance to meet and network at a wonderful dinner reception. The 24 executive women also had the chance to attend a golf clinic and to play a round of golf on the (challenging) “kids course” at Old Barnwell. It was a meaningful event for these college golfers to meet the executive women and for Susan, it brought back fond memories of her younger years playing competitive golf.   • ダイキンパーク、ついに公開！

    2月26日は、新たに命名されたDAIKIN PARKにとって記念すべき一日となりました！今後15年間、この球場はヒューストン・アストロズの本拠地となります。ダイキンは、ミニッツメイドからスタジアムの命名権を引き継ぎ、今ではどこを見てもDAIKINのロゴと名前が輝いています。水曜日に開催された公開イベントでは、アストロズのオーナーであるジム・クレーン氏、GHPのCEOスティーブ・キーン氏、日本総領事の永沼善太郎氏、そしてダイキンの役員一同が中心となり、「鏡開き」を含む美しいセレモニーが執り行われました。スーザンもこの特別な行事に招待され、とても喜んでいました。イベントには、日本政府関係者、日本人コミュニティ、数々の日本企業の代表者、スポーツオーソリティ、ヒューストン市関係者など、多くの方々が集い、ダイキンのこの記念すべき出来事を祝福しました。なお、DAIKIN PARKは、アメリカ合衆国で初めて日本の名前が冠されたメジャーリーグ野球スタジアムとなります。おめでとうございます！

    February 26 was a big day at the newly named DAIKIN PARK! This will be home to the Houston Astros for the next 15 years. Daikin took over the baseball stadium’s naming rights from Minute Maid and now if you look up, you’ll see the DAIKIN name and logo on every wall. At Wednesday’s unveiling event, Astros owner Jim Crane, GHP CEO Steve Kean, Japan’s Consul General Zentaro Naganuma, and Daikin’s entire Executive Team took center state for a beautiful ceremony that included a “Kagami Biraki”. Susan was super excited to be invited to this special occasion, which was also attended by many members of the Japanese government, the Japanese American community, representatives from many Japanese companies, the Sports Authority, City of Houston, and many others there to congratulate Daikin on this momentous event. Daikin Park will be the FIRST major league baseball stadium in the United States with a Japanese name. Omedetou Gozaimasu!

  • この詐欺に注意！

    最近、新しい詐欺が流行していて、私ももう少しで引っかかるところでした！

    その詐欺は「The Toll Roads Notice of Toll Evasion（通行料未払い通知）」というタイトルのテキストメッセージとして届きました。メッセージには、「あなたのアカウントに未払いの通行料があり、延滞料金を避けるために12時間以内に支払う必要がある。さもないと、延滞料金が増額され、DMV（車両管理局）に報告される」と書かれていました。これってすごく怖いし、本物っぽいですよね？ ちょうどその時、私もHardy Toll Road（有料道路）を走行していたので、なおさら信じそうになりました。

    さらに、メッセージには「リンクをコピーしてSafariブラウザで開くこと」と「メッセージにYと返信すること」が指示されていました。絶対にやらないでください！！！ これは詐欺です！
    このezdriveというサイトのリンクを開くと、クレジットカード情報や個人情報を盗まれる可能性があります。

    このリンクには絶対に注意してください！最近、この詐欺についての警告がニュースでも頻繁に報道されています。

    皆さんも十分に気をつけてください！

    It came as a text message and the title was “The Toll Roads Notice of Toll Evasion”.  The message said I had an unpaid toll bill on my account and to avoid late fees, to pay within 12 hours or the late fees would be increased and reported to the DMV. That’s scary and sounds legit, especially since I was riding on the Hardy Toll Road at that time. 

    There is a new scam right now that almost tricked me! 

    The text also says to copy the link to your Safari browser and open it and to reply Y to the message.  DON’T DO THAT!!!!  It is a SCAM!  Once you open the link from ezdrive, that bad site will probably take your credit card information and your personal information.

    Please be careful of this link. There are many warnings about it in the news these days!

    🪐 3月23日：土星のリング平面通過

    土星の環が見えなくなる珍しい現象が発生！🌌 地球から見た際に、土星の環が真横になるため、一時的にその姿が消えてしまいます。

    🌑 3月29日：部分日食

    月が太陽の最大93%を覆う部分日食が発生！ 🌞🌑 この日食は約4時間続き、米州、ヨーロッパ、アフリカの一部で観測可能。開始時刻はEDT午前4時51分です。

    The Moon will cover up to 93% of the Sun at its peak! 🌞🌑 This eclipse will last nearly four hours, starting at 4:51 AM EDT, and will be visible from parts of the Americas, Europe, and Africa.

    ☄️ April 22: Lyrid Meteor Shower
    A dazzling meteor shower producing 10-15 meteors per hour! 🌠 Since the radiant rises before midnight, try spotting meteors before the fat crescent Moon rises after midnight.

    🌙 April 25: Triple Conjunction – A Smiley Face in the Sky
    The waning crescent Moon will align with Venus and Saturn, forming an enchanting “smiley face” in the sky!

    For those of you new to Houston, the Houston Rodeo is one of our city’s largest events. This year, it kicks off on March 4 and ends on March 23. For all the details, please check this website: https://www.rodeohouston.com/. There are so many things to do when you visit the rodeo. There is a huge carnival for the kids, a livestock show inside NRG Center, lots of shopping for all kinds of cowboy goods, of course the rodeo itself, and nightly concerts. If you happen to have any guests who are arriving from outside the U.S. around early March and who have a passport stamp, you can send them to the second floor of NRG Center to register and enter a special lounge for international guests. Look for all the international flags and the registration desk or you can share Susan’s phone number so they can contact her if they need help to get a special pass (832-725-7880). International guests will need to show their passport with an immigration entry stamp to get their special pass. Once they have their special pass, they can enter a VIP lounge with great food and drinks and the opportunity to visit with other international guests and agriculture related vendors. Also!
