Attention ramen lovers!! There is a new ramen restaurant in Houston called Tsujita Artisan Noodle and it just grand opened on the west side of Houston. Tsujita has five (almost 6) locations: three locations in California (with one more coming in May), one in New Jersey, and now one in Houston! Tsujita originated in Tokyo in 2003 and has 18 locations in Japan. Taking a look at their menu, they have Tsukemen (noodles where you dipped them in tasty soup) as well as Ramen (Hakata Tonkotsu, chicken, miso, or veggie). They also have various rice bowls (katsu curry or chashu bowl) and a nice appetizer menu with everything from takoyaki to gyoza to karaage. Tsujita Ramen Retaurant is located at 12230 Westheimer Rd, A-160, Houston, TX 77077. We are excited to go check it out!

Last Saturday March 9 was an event called the “Track Madness ’24” season opener. Koh really wanted to go so we packed the boys and went to check it out. It was actually pretty exciting! There were all kinds of car racing going on, including Eco Stocks, Legends, Legacy, Bootleggers, Outlaws, Factory Stocks, Pro Modifieds, Pro Trucks and NASKARTS. During the intermission, fans got to meet and greet with the drivers.
If you are car racing fan, there’s no need to go to NASCAR to watch the action. There’s plenty of excitement right here in Houston at the Houston Motorsports Park!
Who is reading this newsletter and has little kids? Who has never been to the Houston Rodeo? The Houston Rodeo is one of the largest events in our city. It start last week on Feb 27 and it will end on March 17. There are so many things to see and do at NRG Park. If you want to go watch the rodeo, you can buy tickets online by the day. You select the entertainer who will be singing and with that ticket, you can enter the grounds and enter into the rodeo inside the NRG Stadium. The cheapest tickets (way up high!) are about $25. If you do not want to see the rodeo or the singer, you can simply buy a ‘Grounds Pass’ to enter the carnival and the NRG Center (where all the animals and shopping is). A grounds pass is $20 for adults and $10 for kids and can be bought at the entrance. People with little kids may want to go check out NRG Center and the carnival. When our boys were small, we brought them every year and they loved it! If you are new to Houston and would like to go check it out, respond to this article and let us know! The annual BBQ Cookoff took place over this past weekend. For the first time in maybe 10 years, Susan did not go volunteer at the International Village because the team from Japan, BBQ Shogun, was not invited this time. Instead, we went as regular people to actually ENJOY the BBQ Cookoff! Susan went on two days, Friday and Saturday, and brought along many friends to experience the super fun atmosphere. Having many friends and colleagues with private tents, they were able to bounce around from place to place and enjoy the BBQ, music, and dancing. They were also able to stop by the International Village and say hello to the many different countries participating this year.
This event is touted as the World’s Largest BBQ competition and the cooks are SERIOUS! They compete in several categories including brisket, chicken, ribs, and dessert. Here is a complete list of the winners:

The Houston Rodeo is one of our city’s largest events. This year, it will kick off on Feb 27 and go until March 17. For those of you that are new to Houston, did you know that the rodeo is run mainly by 35,000 volunteers who give their time on various committees? In fact, there are 110 different commitees that volunteers can choose to serve on including Auctions Assistance, Carnival Ticket Sales, Gatekeepers, Wine Garden, School Art, and more. Susan serves on the International Committee, which the committee tasked with welcoming and conducting special activities for our international guests during the first 8 days of the Rodeo. Our committee also travels to various livestock functions in different countries to foster good will and relationships, which is why Susan travelled to Costa Rica last summer! Each night of the rodeo, there is a concert and last week, the entertainer lineup was announced. Click Here to see which singers will sing on which nights!
