ヒューストン最大級のイベントのひとつ、ヒューストン・ロデオが3月2日から22日まで開催されます！まだ行ったことがない方は、ぜひ一度体験してみてください。日中は子どもたちが楽しめるカーニバルがあり、夕方6時頃からはロデオ本番がスタートします。ブルライディングや子牛追い（calf scramble）、チャックワゴンレース、バレルレーシングなど、迫力ある競技が盛りだくさんです。そして夜には毎晩有名アーティストによるコンサートが開催されます。NRGアリーナ内には美味しいフードやショッピングブースもたくさん並び、ヒヨコや子豚、子牛などかわいい動物たちを見ることもできます。地元の学生たちは自分たちで育てた家畜を出品して競い合い、優秀者には奨学金が授与されます。また、K-12の子どもたちによるアート作品の展示もあり、家族みんなで楽しめる本当に素晴らしいイベントです。詳しくはこちら：https://www.rodeohouston.com/plan-your-visit/
なお、真理子とスーザンは今年もロデオのボランティアとして参加しています。真理子はMidway Ticket Salesチーム、スーザンは最初の9日間に世界各国からの来場者をお迎えするInternational Committeeに所属しています。今年はスーザンにとって初めてリーダー職ではなく、一般ボランティアとしてゆったり参加できる年となり、写真を撮ったりゴルフカートでゲストをご案内したりする予定です。これまで3年間Division Vice Chairmanとして活動してきた感謝のしるしとして、先週委員会から特別なベルトバックルを贈られました。名前と在任年度（2023年、2024年、2025年）が刻まれた、とても思い出深い記念品です。本当に特別な贈り物ですね。
One of the biggest events of Houston is coming March 2-22! It is the Houston Rodeo and if you have never been, you have to go! In the daytime, there is a carnival for the kids. Around 6pm the rodeo starts with all kind of events such as bull riding, calf scramble, chuckwagon races, and barrel racing. And finally, there is a concert in the evening, featuring a different star singer every night. There is a lot of great food to try and lots of shopping going on inside the NRG Arena. There is also a lot of animals to see from baby chickens to baby pigs to baby cows! Area students compete to show the livestock that they have raised and many win big scholarships for their prize. There is also an art competition for kids K-12 displayed throughout the Arena. It is truly an amazing event that I highly recommend! On a separate note, Mariko and Susan are both volunteers at the rodeo! Mariko works in the Midway Ticket Sales team and Susan works on the International Committee, a committee that welcomes guests from around the world during the first 9 days of rodeo. This will be the first year that Susan is not in a leadership role and can relax as a regular volunteer, maybe taking pictures or driving around guests in a golf cart. As a token of appreciation for serving the last 3 years as a Division Vice Chairman, her committee presented her with a very special Belt Buckle last week. It has her name on it and the years that she served, 2023, 2024, and 2025. How special!
